The original unit we received wasn’t working correctly. I reached out to customer service , explained the issue, they offered a 20% refund and a new switch or a brand new unit. We elected to go with the new unit. We had the new unit within a couple of days and a return mailing label for the non working unit. We put the 2nd unit up, and it works perfectly. Customer Reviews
I was looking for a range hood that had the most suction power and this one had by far the highest CFM compared to other ones I looked at. I used to have a microwave w/ a fan above my stove that probably sucked up only about 70% of the smoke and that’s after I installed a “hood extender” to the bottom to catch the smoke. The microwave just wasn’t strong enough and the big burners on my stove are in the front. Probably would have done a better job if the big burners were in the back but still probably wouldn’t have captured all the smoke. This hood is so much more powerful and sticks out further and I would say even if I’m cooking on high heat and there’s a lot of smoke this thing sucks up about 95% or more (on high level 4). I no longer see smoke up near the ceiling like I used to w/ my microwave fan.I also love the motion sensor. No need to touch the buttons if you have food on your hands, just wave across left or right to increase/decrease the power. And when you’re done cooking and want to eat? Just set the timer to turn off automatically. And the lights are great to help you see your food even better. Not something I ever thought I’d need but once you have them you realize what you’ve been missing. And finally, I think it looks absolutely great above my stove and makes the kitchen look so much better.I had a contractor install it so can’t say anything about the install. It’s a bit loud on level 4 but to me it’s a good tradeoff for the suction power. Levels 1-3 aren’t too loud at all IMO.Oh, the fan covers are a bit too big to fit in my dishwashwer, but they’re easy to remove and install and I just soak them w/ formula 409 for a bit and rinse them off, easy to clean.Think I covered everything, I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for something that works better than your microwave or lower CFM range hood and want to upgrade the looks of your kitchen.
An excellent hood for the money. The stainless steel is of good quality. The packaging/box was excellent and the hood arrived in perfect condition. All outward-facing stainless steel surfaces are wrapped in protective wrapping that peels off with a fair amount of effort. As for performance, the fan works well and the various speeds allow me to choose what is needed for the particular cooking session. The LED light is bright and does a very good job of illuminating the cooking surface without the need for additional lighting. The hood is easy to clean with a soft cloth.Installation was straight-forward with good instructions. The unit is quite liteweight so it is able to be installed by one person if necessary. The only negative I have (and it is not enough to deduct any stars in my review) is that the capacitive touch buttons used to turn the hood on/off, set the fan speed, and turn on the LED light are a bit sensitive and require a fair amount of precision to hit correctly. It requires not only a precise touch but you have to have your finger on the button for the right amount of time as well. It took me a little while to ‘get the hang’ of using it, but now it is not an issue. Same for the motion sensor. It works well but it requires a relatively precise distance from the hood and hand speed for the gesture to register.Again, these are only very minor critiques of what is, and the end of the day, a very well make and functional product.
Complete Buying Guide for Wall Mount Range Hood For Gas Stove
Essential Factors We Consider
When selecting a wall mount range hood for your gas stove, several key factors determine effectiveness and usability. First, consider the cubic feet per minute (CFM) rating—this measures airflow capacity. For gas stoves, aim for at least 100 CFM per linear foot of cooktop width, so a 30-inch stove needs a minimum of 300 CFM, with higher values recommended for frequent heavy cooking. Next, evaluate motor type: DC motors are quieter and more energy-efficient than AC units, while full copper motors offer superior durability. Installation flexibility matters too—some models support both ducted and ductless setups, giving you options if exterior venting isn’t feasible. Noise levels, measured in decibels (dB), should ideally stay below 50 dB for comfortable conversation during meals. Finally, check dimensions to ensure proper coverage over your stove without protruding too far into walkways.
Budget Planning
Wall mount range hoods vary widely in price based on features and build quality. Entry-level models typically start around $150–$250 and offer basic suction and lighting without smart controls. Mid-range options ($250–$500) often include gesture or touch controls, better materials, and improved noise reduction. Premium models ($500+) boast advanced automation, full copper motors, customizable lighting, and designer finishes. Remember to factor in additional costs like charcoal filters (for ductless use) or professional installation if required. While it’s tempting to choose the cheapest option, investing in a higher-quality unit ensures longevity and better performance, ultimately saving money through reduced maintenance and replacement needs.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right wall mount range hood for your gas stove involves balancing power, features, and budget. Prioritize suction strength matched to your cooking habits, then layer in conveniences like gesture controls or tunable LEDs that enhance daily use. Don’t overlook build quality—stainless steel and solid construction prevent rust and maintain appearance over years of grease exposure. Whether you’re upgrading from a microwave hood or installing your first dedicated ventilation system, the right choice will keep your kitchen air fresh, protect cabinetry, and elevate your overall cooking experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much CFM do I need for a gas stove?
A: A general rule is 100 CFM per linear inch of cooktop width. For a standard 30-inch gas stove, aim for at least 3,000 CFM total, but most manufacturers recommend starting with 300–400 CFM and adjusting based on actual usage. Heavy frying or high-heat cooking may require models exceeding 600 CFM.
Q: Can I install a wall mount range hood without ductwork?
A: Yes, many modern models support ductless operation using replaceable charcoal filters to recirculate cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, ducted systems generally provide better odor removal and are preferred for frequent heavy cooking.
Q: Are gesture controls worth the extra cost?
A: Gesture controls add convenience by allowing hands-free operation—ideal when your hands are messy from cooking. They’re especially useful in families with kids or during cleanup. If you value hygiene and ease of use, they justify the added expense.
Q: How often should I clean my range hood filters?
A: Grease-laden filters should be cleaned every 1–2 months depending on cooking frequency. Permanent filters (like those in COSMO models) only need occasional dishwasher cycles. Always follow manufacturer guidelines for optimal performance and fire safety.
Q: Do I need professional installation?
A: Simple models with basic wiring can often be installed by homeowners following included instructions. However, complex units with smart features or hardwired connections may benefit from licensed electricians to ensure code compliance and safety.
Upgrading your kitchen ventilation doesn’t have to be complicated. With the right wall mount range hood for your gas stove, you’ll enjoy fresher air, fewer grease stains, and a more enjoyable cooking environment. Whether you prioritize raw suction power, modern smart features, or budget-friendly performance, the ten models reviewed here represent the current best-in-class options available today. Take time to assess your kitchen layout, cooking habits, and installation needs before choosing—your future self will thank you for selecting a reliable, efficient system that transforms daily meal prep into a cleaner, quieter, and more pleasant experience.
