Customer Review: I had a Panasonic inverter, lasted only 3 yrs, extremely expensive. This one is great, pretty quiet. Fast, and easy to use.Air fryer is awesome. Combo also for frozen foods. Can’t go wrong with. Especially the price, very affordable. The air fryer works great. I like the different settings. Used the broiler on salmon, is very even browned and fast. Can’t go wrong with this one.I’ll be on later for update for longevity.Only had this one a few months ago.

Customer Review: This is just what I wanted! Great and big enough for everything I do. Such power! Well packed and fast 1 day FREE delivery. My last microwave combo was a Frigidaire and it went bad less than 1 year. Very bad! Never heard such a racket in the back control unit were not allowed to open. Was so loud in all 3 modes. Their customer service was non existent! After over a week I was still needing more proof that I bought it from Walmart that is all on their records. Anyways done with anything Frigidaire makes. Also Walmart will not do anything after 90 days. Nothing so hit a dead end. Took the loss and moved on. This Toshiba I now have is so well made and way easier to use than the videos showed. Takes up the same room as the one it replaced. Love the air fryer for many things. The microwave was also needed. This is one well made machine! Such a pain without having even a microwave for the week I spent trying to get customer service to do something with my warranty.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’ve had this microwave for a few months now. The packaging was perfect upon arrival. It works great. Food seems to cook faster than my old microwave, which is fine. I’m used to it now. The “all white” color was exactly what I was looking for. It is great in my modern white kitchen. It’s a great size to fit under kitchen cabinets. Not tiny dorm size. Not gigantic. Really pretty perfect! My only issue that was confusing was the automatic “childproof latch”. It’s not that complicated to turn off, but I was a bit confused at first. All you do it turn a phillips head screwdriver into the locking screw. It turns it off permanently or until you choose to reactivate it. See diagram in my photos. The directions come in the box also.

Customer Review: Delivery via UPS was a nightmare, but the oven more than made up for that. My first impression is that it’s bigger than I thought it’d be (I can never envision things when measurements are stated). I thought it would be considerably smaller than my discarded microwave but, in fact, it’s bigger.First thing you have to know: The child lock is very easy to disable so do it before it makes you think the door won’t open or before it annoys you. One of the customer videos shows how to do this (click the video link then look down the right side of the video section and you’ll find it).Second, try it out immediately before tossing the box into your recycling bin. Some reviewers found fault with its performance and if you get one of those lemons, you’re going to need the box to send it back. The oven does make noise while it’s working so don’t let the noise (which is minor) upset you. It’s just how it works. Some even complain about the beeps when the food is done cooking. I like the beeps. I can hear them two rooms away (all very open space) and it lets me know when it’s time to go back in the kitchen. It’s really not very loud, but I could hear it even with the TV on.I thought, at first, it’d be impossible to set cooking time till I saw the button for time cook and saw that it disables those preset time on the 1 thru 6 buttons. It adds one more step to setting the time cook function but I found that it bothers me not at all. Setting the clock is also super easy. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the special function buttons, but I may try out the popcorn one sometime. Reheat is also interesting. I can attest to the success of microwaving a frozen meal. Worked perfectly. The enclosed instructions said you can adjust the power but I couldn’t figure out how to do because the instructions didn’t explain that. I asked Rufus and the answer solved my problem. First press the “time cook” button, press the buttons for the time you want to cook, press the power button and then enter the level on the key pad (that’s the part Rufus knew that I didn’t know), then hit start. Till Rufus said to enter the level on the key pad, I just kept pressing the power button and nothing changed. It stayed at high. I had thought I was going to have to return the oven and reorder it, so I’m giving Rufus a standing ovation for his help.If I had to come up with a complaint it would be the visibility of the buttons. That could just be my problem because my vision isn’t great. I solved the problem by putting a small lamp where the light falls on the buttons. It wasn’t easy to find an oven with the right wattage and color from a company I can trust, but I have one of the GE Cafe toaster ovens and absolutely love it so I took the plunge after reading reviews for a bunch of other microwave ovens and seeing how few seemed to have low numbers of one-star reviews. Compared to others, this one is a champ. I also narrowed my search to ovens sold by Amazon rather than third party sellers because Amazon is easier to deal with than some third parties are (which I discovered when shopping for both microwaves and computers recently).Overall, I like this microwave more than I liked the Panasonic I had for many years, and I loved that one — thus, this is a winner.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: The micro wave purchased from Amazon Prime in May of 2025 has been great until 3 weeks ago when it stopped working. examination by licensed technicians revealed an internal burned connection with char. I think it should still be under warranty.I have purchased an identical replacement from Amazon Prime which is working fine. The May of 2025 Toshiba is in the shipping crate the new one came in. What to do? Willy Schwenzfeiercontainer that the new one came in. ? under warranty, Refund? it is repairable and you may wish to pick it up

Customer Review: This is NOT an inverter microwave with continuous power levels! It’s just like any other microwave that turns the full power on and off periodically for lower power levels. I was replacing my Panasonic inverter microwave because of a problematic door. I got this, and placed a slice of cheese on a plate at power 1 as I would in the Panasonic. The Panasonic would slowly and evenly warm the slice without melting it – that is a TRUE low power. This Toshiba BOILED THE CHEESE IN SECONDS ON THE LOWEST POWER SETTING!I’m returning it. Buyer beware – if you’re expecting a the continuous true power levels of an inverter microwave, look elsewhere. I’m guessing ALL of the Toshiba so called “inverter” microwaves are like this.In case you were wondering, I did verify this unquestionably. I measured the external microwave emissions with a spectrum analyzer and it was at FULL POWER WHEN SET TO THE LOWEST POWER SETTING. At power level 1, it just runs full power for several seconds and then no power for a longer period of time – like the junky microwaves have since the 1980’s.To make it worse, the annoying beeper cannot be shut off like it can on many other microwaves today. I searched deeply and experimented and I’m virtually certain there is no way by using any button combination.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: After 5 years, 1 month, and 3 weeks of daily use, our favorite kitchen appliance has bit the dust. After we stopped crying and said thank you to our dear friend for its years of service, we searched our Amazon purchase history and were elated to see this microwave is still available for purchase. It will be a long two days without it, but we’re excited to welcome Toshi Junior to the family. Why are we repurchasing this Toshiba countertop microwave? Until today, it worked perfectly every time, heating food evenly and maintaining its power over the years. It’s a nice size. I would consider this full sized (I’ve never not been able to fit something in it), but it’s compact enough to fit on a shelf in our pantry. It’s simple to use, the buttons make sense. The glass turntable is nice and easy to clean. The interior never stained even with a certain family member never covering their dish and splattering sauces everywhere on a regular basis. And it’s a great value.Highly recommend.Update: The new microwave arrived. I literally clicked “purchase again” from my order history, so we expected to receive the same product. It’s slightly different. A little smaller. The handle operates differently (you can’t just pull the door open anymore) and the add 30 seconds button doesn’t work the same as on the older model. We find this irritating, but if you’re not used to the old function, you might not find the new limitation annoying. We still endorse this microwave. It’s a good value and it works well. Hopefully this one lasts at least 5 years like the last one did.

Customer Review: I bought this microwave to replace a very old microwave that had issues. My old microwave’s keypad was failing and the paint on the inside was badly rotting away. So it was time to buy a new microwave.I also purchased a microwave plate cover to protect this new microwave from splatter. The splatter is what caused my old microwave’s paint to chip away. Over time the paint will start to chip away.So i bought this plate cover and so far it’s keeping the microwave clean:(i included a photo of the plate cover inside the microwave)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KVK337M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Pros:- Cooking -It cooks really well. I was surprised to find out this cooks a bit better than my old microwave. Seems to cook more evenly. Cooks just as fast as my old microwave (similar wattage)My old microwave: 1,000 wattsThis Toshiba: 1,100 watts- Touch pad (East To Use) -Nice simple touch pad. It works well. Lots of quick touch options. The “One touch start” is great, press 1 for 1 minute, 2 for 2 minutes, etc… good for older people. Not complicated to figure out.- Instruction Label -It has a label on the inside the microwave with info / instructions for cooking different things (defrost, melt, popcorn, etc) so you have that info available to you anytime.- Noise Level (Cooking noise) -It does make noise like all microwaves do but the noise it makes is actually pretty quiet. Much more quiet than my old microwave. The noise it makes is an odd buzzing noise when you turn it on to cook. At first i thought that buzzing noise it was making was a bad sign but that’s just the noise it makes. Not an issue. Just a new sound to a different microwave.- Keypad Beep noise -You can turn off the beep noise of the keypad. I turned it off to test it, it works. But i turned it back on just because i then realized i enjoy hearing the beep noise feedback.- Child safety -There is a safety option, at first i thought if i activate it, it would prevent the door from opening but that’s not how it works. If you activate it, you can still open the door. But the microwave won’t function until you turn off the lock via the keypad. A little lock icon will appear on the LCD screen to let you know it’s locked. So after every time you finish using the microwave you will have to turn the lock option on. When you want to use it, turn lock option off. If you have kids it might be worth the extra steps to lock / unlock it, otherwise it’s not worth using.- Microwave color -It looks stylish. Especially if you have black / chrome around the kitchen. It’s also fine with white also.Cons:- The stainless steel on the door is a “finger print magnet”. If you touch it, it will create smear marks. The handle has the chrome also.(i included a photo of that)- Color options -One thing i noticed when trying to buy a microwave. The color options are very limited.I do wish this microwave had more color options. I originally was hoping to get a 100% white microwave or at least get this same color microwave but have the black be in the color of white or even 100% silver but it’s not an option. It’s fine though. It still looks pretty good.- Clock -Not really a huge complaint, but if you unplug the microwave, the clock gets reset automatically. I think this is an issue with all microwaves. Would be nice if it could save the time when not plugged in. Because if you accidentally unplug it, then you have to set the time again.Summary:I haven’t fully tested ALL the cooking features. But for basic everyday use of quickly heating / cooking things, it works well, cooks well. Great microwave. Worth spending money on as it’s an investment that should last for many years.

For anyone looking for a dependable microwave that covers the basics well, this one is a worthwhile purchase.

Customer Review: I chose this particular microwave oven after doing a quick “top 10 best recommended” search. I have purchased a number of Faberware products and am quite happy with the quality and economical price points for them. This is a size and power upgrade for an aging GE 700 Watt countertop microwave oven. The included instruction manual is easy enough to follow and setup went fairly quickly. The unit build is quite sturdy and the easy touch Control buttons respond well. Functionality is excellent and relatively quiet. The internal glass platter has reasonably powerful steady rotation as well as the internal space being lit while in use. I can easily recommend this product to anyone looking for a mid sized countertop microwave while not breaking the bank to acquire a quality solution. One of the nicer aspects of this particular model is it comes in 7 different sizes, the larger ones with increased power ratings as well as multiple color schemes to choose from. Easy and economical choice to accommodate most any counter space.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Great larger microwave. Son wanted a stainless steel GE one to match his stove. Heats fast. Nice looking. Only problem is that it took 3 tries to get one not damaged. First one shipped UPS had a big dent in the corner, and second one shipped USPS had a big dent on the bottom. Was a big pain hauling the two microwaves to return to the UPS store, but free returns helped a lot. The third one arrived by USPS safe and sound.

Customer Review: Works great, very reasonable price, great product so far.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I like the GE Convection Microwave Oven, 1050W. I have used the microwave, the air fryer, the convection oven and all work great. My old microwave was higher wattage, but I have not had to add much extra time to heat things up. The beeping is a bit annoying, but I’m getting used to it. It tells you when it’s HOT, which is a good safety feature. A lot of smudges on the stainless steel parts, but that’s expected. It fits in the standard microwave spot in my cabinets above my kitchen counter.

Customer Review: It really is so different than a microwave. The ability to heat food up in the air fry mode is so much better than turning my gas oven. And then be able to microwave. It took a little to get used to the controls but now it’s fine. A little odd that the main microwave button “Cook time” is in a random spot rather than at the top or highlight it somehow. Wish companies used white type on black rather than the light grey (I ain’t getting any younger!). It is also a bit underpowered but not a big deal. The most annoying this this thing beeps soooo loud! So loud. I contacted GE to see if the volume could be turned down and they said no. It’s loud like something extremely dangerous is happening with the oven. Lol. Overall much better than a regular microwave.

Customer Review: I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase of this microwave. It has all the same settings as the larger ones. It’s just smaller. It fits all my needs but with a much smaller price. I use it daily. It’s very easy to use and keep clean. Always cover my food while heating it also helps keep the moisture from forming on the inside. Noise level is low. I recommend this product for its use in cooking and reheating.Since the early 80’s I have only owned four microwaves and all of them have been Kenmore. They last long time and work great. I stay with what works best for me.

Complete Buying Guide for 1 6 Cu Ft Over The Range Microwave Oven

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting the best 1.6 cu ft over-the-range microwave oven, we evaluate several critical factors to ensure you get maximum value and performance. Capacity is paramount—1.6 cubic feet provides enough room for family meals while staying compact enough for most kitchen layouts. Wattage directly impacts speed and evenness; look for at least 900–1150 watts for reliable results. Ventilation matters too—recirculating systems filter grease and odors, while ducted models vent outside for cleaner air. Additional features like preset menus, child locks, and sensor cooking enhance usability without complicating operation.

Budget Planning

Prices for 1.6 cu ft over-the-range microwave ovens typically range from $150 to $400. Entry-level models offer solid basic performance for under $200, ideal for renters or secondary kitchens. Mid-range units ($200–$300) often include smart sensors, convection options, or air frying. Premium models exceed $350 but deliver superior build quality, advanced functions, and longer warranties. Remember to factor in installation costs if replacing an existing unit—professional mounting adds $50–$100 depending on complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between a countertop and over-the-range microwave?

A: Over-the-range microwaves are installed above your stove, saving counter space and often including built-in ventilation. Countertop models sit on your kitchen surface and require dedicated space but offer easier access and relocation.

Q: Is 1.6 cubic feet enough for a family of four?

A: Yes—1.6 cu ft comfortably fits standard dinner plates, multiple servings, and frozen meals. It’s considered a medium-to-large capacity ideal for most families.

Q: Do over-the-range microwaves need electrical and ducting?

A: Most require a dedicated electrical outlet. Recirculating models don’t need ducting but filter air internally. Ducted versions vent outside through wall or hood ducts—check local building codes before installation.

Q: Can I install an over-the-range microwave myself?

A: While possible, professional installation is recommended due to weight (often 80+ pounds) and precise alignment requirements. Improper setup risks instability or improper ventilation.

Q: Are smart microwaves worth the extra cost?

A: If you value convenience and precision (like humidity sensing or app control), yes. Basic users may find traditional models equally effective at lower prices.
