Customer Reviews

“The InSinkErator HOT250 has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. The ability to instantly dispense both near-boiling hot water and cold, filter-ready water right from the same faucet is incredibly convenient. Whether I’m preparing tea, warming baby bottles, or quickly rinsing dishes, this system handles it all with ease. One thing to note is that while the system is filter-compatible, the water filter itself was a separate purchase. However, it was easy to install and has worked seamlessly with the dispenser, ensuring great-tasting water every time. The design is sleek and stylish, especially with the satin nickel finish, which blends seamlessly with my kitchen decor. The dual-handle system is intuitive, with the hot water handle featuring a spring-loaded safety mechanism that automatically shuts off the water when released, providing an extra layer of safety.Installation was straightforward, and the 360-degree swivel spout adds to its usability, allowing me to direct the water exactly where I need it. The stainless steel tank is durable and keeps the water at the perfect temperature, with adjustable controls that let me set it between 160°F and 210°F.Overall, this dispenser has exceeded my expectations in both performance and design. It’s a must-have for any kitchen that values both functionality and style. Highly recommended!”

Excellent product. I’ve had several over the past 30+ years. I like this one best because it provides instant hot water, and it also can dispense filtered cold water eliminating the nasty chlorine taste. I purchased this one as a factory refurbished model with the same warranty as a new one. Unfortunately the heating unit was not as good as new. It never heated the water above 149 degrees. BUT, the manufacturer’s service department was excellent. One short phone call to explain what was happening and a replacement was shipped without delay. The replacement works just fine.

Customer Reviews

“I had a chance to test out my new WinTemp Boiling Water Dispenser, and overall, I’m super impressed. When it says boiling, it is not kidding. The water got so hot that it began to melt the plastic jar I was using to test it out with. The build quality is A+. It’s got a really nice heavy stainless steel spigot with both hot and cold water valves, and all the plumbing that is needed to set it up was included (minus whatever you will need to connect to your fresh water supply), and setup was straightforward. All the fittings are quick connect except for the one flex line and it has a built in tool for tighting it to the heater. Everything was neatly packed and labeled. It heats water fast—took about 12-15 minutes to get from room temp to over 200°F. I reallylike that it’s only 1300 watts, which is nice since I can run it off of an existing single 110 outlet, just plug and play. It would be nice if the hoses were a bit longer but but I dont see it really being an issue for my set up—another foot or so would make installation more flexible. But other than that I am really happy with it overall. Perfect for my garage setup or the off-grid cabin I’m planning. Highly recommend!”

Holds temp and can be adjusted with my phone. I’ve had the other product that’s popular with the big box stores and this is SOOOO much better. Easy install but is a little larger than the others. Don’t mind it though since it’s light years ahead of the other product. FYI: I had the standard 1&3/8 hole which the faucet did cover in case people wanted to know.

Customer Reviews

Great to have if you are getting hot water frequently. Previously we would boil water in the morning, put it into a coffee thermos that would keep it hot all day. Now we can get hot water when we like. Have my French press full of coffee any time, faster than using a Keurig. It gets 5 stars because it does what it says, and has a nice faucet, safety feature for the hot, and works without issue, but it still could do it better.. the consTo know:Installing it is easy if you know a little plumbing, and already have power you can plug it into. The Cons:Bad insulation, energy consumption would go way down with some insulation, I hear it heating about once an hour. It feels warm, like a mug of coffee to the touch, so it is giving off quite a bit of heat. Waste heat warms the house in winter, but not good for the summer. The package says equivalent to a 40 watt bulb, but keep in mind that it is like running a 40watt light all day, as it is pulling 1000 watts on and off. If it had some vacuum insulation like the coffee thermos we used in the past, hot water for a day would be like running a 40watt light for an hour, not a day.Power outage will turn it off and you have to manually remember to turn it back on. Understandable safety feature, but worth noting. Notice this as I was going to put it on a timer to just have it only on in mornings, when it is used the most and fill the thermos for the rest of the day. It does heat the water pretty quickly if you forget to turn it on.It is a bit Noisy. When heating it makes a hissing sound. Not bad but you will hear it.

At our last house, I installed the similar InSinkErator instant hot water dispenser + faucet. We loved the convenience (tea and cocoa) and the utility (speeds up boiling water and great for cleaning stubborn food grime). But two issues with it:(1) The installation was a pain, since the faucet had to be secured from underneath the countertop. That meant wedging myself deep under the sink and awkwardly reaching up behind the sink to tighten the large collar/nut.(2) The faucet, although it worked well, loosened up over time and there was an annoying amount of “slack” in the handles, resulting in occasional leaks from the faucet. I tried tightening the small allen screws in the back (awkward to see/reach), but it didn’t help.I can’t yet speak to the long-term durability of this Ready Hot Water Dispenser, but the installation was definitely easier in this regard; they have a clever system where the collar folds in half in order to squeeze through the counter hole, then is pulled up with two plastic attachments before it is screwed down in place. Much easier to do and no need to crane awkwardly behind the sink. The faucet looks great and feels very solid. The digital thermometer is great and allows for precise adjustments; I definitely tasted a difference between 180 and 185.The only downsides I can think of (compared to the InSinkErator unit) are (1) the tank is larger here, which means it takes up more room under the sink–not a big difference though, and (2) the faucet is definitely taller. Not a bad thing per se, but if you’re looking for a small or more subtle faucet, this probably isn’t it.Overall, very pleased with this purchase. The quality is excellent, and considering it’s about $150 cheaper than the InSinkErator unit, it’s really a no-brainer.Aside: Highly recommended to install with the Filtrete water filtration system!

Customer Reviews

OMG, I love this hot water dispenser. Great for making teas, hot cereals and instant coffee in half the time because the water is already hot and waiting to be used. As a bonus, it disinfects and cleans dishes and bottles with out chemicals because the temperature of the water is 160-210° F.I choose this model because I installed a 3 stage water filtration system under the sink and i wanted only one additional spout added to the top of the sink. After filtered water leaves the filtration system the water line splits in two, one goes to the insinkerator then to the hot water side of the spout, the second line goes right to the cold water side of the spout. So using the water filtration system and splitting the lines give me filtered hot water and filtered drinking water.I have read the reviews for this and other models and I really believe most problems can be attributed to installation errors, irregularities in the existing plumbing or water condition. I do believe in the existents of manufacturing defects, so upon receiving my unit I took it apart for inspection. I found that under the plastic outer shell is a thick layer of insulating Styrofoam and under that is the tank. That is it, nothing complicated here. I did a quick look over of the ports and electrical connections and it all looked solid and tight. No tubing or wires came in contact with the tank. This unit has a two tap spout with indicators for hot and cold water. It does not chill water. It only heats it. The water is as cold as it is out your regular sink faucet. It is warm to the touch, because the contents is hot. Occasionally, it will make a very faint boiling noise as the heating element turns on to keep the water at the set temperature. For safety, you have to hold the lever for hot or cold water to flow. Wish I did not have to hold the lever for cold water.I Like It.Would Recommend. Will Buy Again.

If you already have the needed power and 3/8 cold water connection this is nearly a snap to install. But I needed to add an outlet under the sink as the disposal and dishwasher were directly wired from a junction box. Added outlet with disposal on one and dishwasher circuit on the other. Keeping the dishwasher directly wired it gave me a plugin for the tank unit. Also needed to replace the cold water valve with one that had two 3/8 outputs. After getting that done I mounted a water flter (3/8″ in/out) and connected to the new cold water valve. Of course the unit I got and perhaps most all are 1/4″ so I needed a snapfit 3/8 to 1/4 connector. Dry fit the hot/cold valve from above (removed the sprayer to free up a hold) and the tank does need to be pretty close to it, mine is straight below and about 5″ off the bottom. Water connections then pretty much snap together. I flushed the cold first to clear out the new filter.Flow is very strong. Perhaps the 3/8″ filter system helps and its only a basic single filter stage. Some complained flow wasn’t good but for me hot and cold flow beyond expectations (16oz hot in about 9 secs). Now I’m waiting on our first electrical bill after installing to see what the energy use might be and added cost per month.

Everything stated in the advertising seems to be true. It installed easily, just as the directions say. The cautions in the troubleshooting section of the manual were helpful. It’s only been a few days, but it seems to be working well enough. I’ve connected the inlet to my Reverse Osmosis system and I wonder if the inlet water pressure is too low. If it doesn’t improve in the next week or so, I’ll connect it to higher pressure in the upstream side between my water softener and the RO system.

I purchased this item because I wanted to use it to make instant coffee. it does make hot waterbut it is not hot enough. I am disappoined in it.

Customer Reviews

“Nice little water heater. So far I’ve just been using it for tea. No more than 4 cups at a time. Pretty much expect this think to work no better than a run of the mill water cooler with hot water. You will need an outlet under the counter, and if you did what I did, added a water filter, you’d need a couple more fittings. So far so good. No complaints!”

This thing arrived on time and was installed the next day. It was installed under the kitchen sink in a brand new house. No leaks from any of the connections. The next morning, I went to my finished basement and there was water dripping from the ceiling. I immediately went to the kitchen and looked at the installation. Again, no leaks from the connections but there was water coming from the bottom of the tank. the water had leaked and ran down a hole cut in the bottom of the cabinet for the refrigerator water line then to the floor and down into the ceiling of the basement. This is going to cost me 2K to 3K to have repaired. IN A BRAND NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!THANKS AMERICAN STANDARD. I am now looking into any class action lawsuits against this company. If none I will have my insurance company go after them to recover the money they will be shelling out for the repairs. I wouldn’t recommend this thing to anyone. Beware of good reviews. If you search American Standard’s website they do not list or support this item. Really not sure if this is an authentic American Standard item. This failed hours after installation.

Complete Buying Guide for Instant Hot And Cold Water Dispenser 2

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating the best instant hot and cold water dispenser 2, we examine several critical factors including heating speed, temperature range, build quality, safety features, installation requirements, and compatibility with water filtration systems. The ideal model should deliver near-boiling water quickly while maintaining consistent performance over time.

Budget Planning

Prices for instant hot and cold water dispensers range from under $100 for basic models to over $300 for premium systems with smart features. Entry-level options like the American Standard ASH-210 offer affordability but lack advanced features, while InSinkErator models provide superior build quality at higher price points. Consider whether you need smart connectivity, precise temperature control, or filtration compatibility when allocating your budget.

Final Thoughts

Your choice of instant hot and cold water dispenser depends heavily on your specific needs and kitchen setup. For most households, the InSinkErator HOT250 series offers the best balance of performance, safety, and style. Tech-savvy users may prefer the WiFi-enabled model for remote control convenience, while budget-conscious buyers can find adequate solutions from American Standard. Always ensure you have proper electrical outlets and water connections before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How hot does the water from these dispensers actually get?

A: Most quality models reach approximately 200°F, which is hot enough for tea, instant coffee, and cooking but not scalding. The exact temperature varies by model and settings, with some offering adjustable ranges from 120°F to 210°F.

Q: Do I need special plumbing for installation?

A: Most units require standard under-sink plumbing with a dedicated electrical outlet. You’ll typically need a 3/8-inch water supply line and access to a grounded 120V outlet near the sink. Professional installation isn’t required for experienced DIYers.

Q: Can I add a water filter to these systems?

A: Many models, especially InSinkErator products, are filter-compatible. You can usually connect a standard under-sink filtration system to provide purified cold water. Some brands offer proprietary filtration cartridges designed specifically for their units.

Q: How often do I need to refill the hot water tank?

A: Tank capacity varies by model—typically 2 to 3 gallons. Usage frequency determines refill needs: light use (2-3 times daily) may only require refilling weekly, while heavy use (every hour) could necessitate daily refills. Larger tanks reduce refill frequency.

Q: Are these units safe for children?

A: Reputable manufacturers include safety features like spring-loaded handles that automatically shut off hot water flow when released. Some models also have child locks or require continuous handle pressure. Always supervise children near operating dispensers.

Finding the best instant hot and cold water dispenser 2 means balancing your specific needs against available features and budget. Whether you prioritize smart connectivity, precise temperature control, or classic reliability, our top picks offer excellent starting points for transforming your kitchen workflow. Remember to consider installation requirements, tank capacity, and compatibility with your existing plumbing before making your final decision. With the right unit, you’ll enjoy convenient access to both hot and cold water whenever you need it—making everything from morning coffee to evening tea faster and easier than ever.
