Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Viomi continues to put out highly efficient RO systems at lower costs. Viomi hasn’t been around as long as some of its competitors, which might help explain their lower entry prices into the market, so don’t judge price with quality. They have consistently hit far above their class. I own their M1 system which is their flagship unit. It adds minerals back into the water through an additional filter and the sink faucet is upgraded as well. Its a beautiful system, although their software could use a few tweaks still. There were issues initially, not because it didn’t perform well, but that the representatives had fallen short of explaining the difference between a straight RO system like this one and one like the M1 which reintroduces minerals into the filtered water. I hope they work on that marketing piece where expectations are clearly articulated, because their equipment is on par if not a little nicer than their competitors and at a much better price point. You can find my review and video if you do a search for the M1.So. . . right off the bat, the source water from our faucet in the Southwest is hard, very hard. We’re running close to 600ppm TDS. If you want to lessen the chances of developing kidney stones, make sure you have an RO system in place. Clearly, the ability to filter out everything else is right up there from a priority standpoint, but kidney stones are no fun and very common in the Southwest. The VIOMI V6 took and initial source water reading of 602 down to about 24ppm. It hit 13-16ppm a few times. That’s amazing. That’s effective. That’s a keeper. I don’t know how that will affect filter longevity, but time will tell. That will also not be a reflection on the filter, since any system is going to struggle to keep up with extreme hard water. I’m just grateful I don’t have to drink bottled water to avoid microplastics. The digital display is a design you’ll recognize in many mid entry units on the market. I love that it displays TDS readings in real time. I always find it good to test those displays with a third party hand held TDS meter. They don’t always align perfectly, but they are within the margin of error. I use two different meters against my digitals as a rule. This display also has indicators which will light up when it’s time to change out a filter. Color of the metal is upgraded so you don’t have that shiny chrome look. It’s beautiful.Because it’s tankless, you’ll need a power source under the sink. We had to buy a small adapter for the outlet to give us a couple more places to plug this in since the garbage disposal and dishwasher occupied both plug ins. Just make sure you don’t plug the unit into the outlet controlled by the switch. I did that initially and forgot the outlet is only live when the switch is turned on. Since it doesn’t need a tank which I feel is a HUGE bonus, the footprint under the counter gives us a ton of extra room.600 Gallons Per Day is more than adequate for a family. You can go with the 800, 1000, 1200 if you want faster water flow, but at some point I found that the higher GPD units make it difficult to manage the output going into a glass, cup or wattle bottle without water going everywhere. Those units typically come with a touchscreen faucet so you can’t adjust flow. . . and you get to a point where you ask yourself, if I have to control flow, why did I spend so much more money for a faster output? Higher GPD doesn’t always translate what’s best for your needs, much less your wallet. I’m very pleased with the 600GPD rating. It’s a fast, with a reasonable amount of water flow. . . and it’s much less expensive.I’ve owned many different RO systems over the years, most have been with the pressurized holding tanks I’ve had to replace every couple of years. None had any kind of warning systems about individual filter usage and all came with basic faucets. I started changing over to the tankless units about 3 years ago and that’s been a game changer. No more waiting for the tank to build up enough pressure to fill the dog bowls, water bottles to put in the fridge. You literally can’t use more than a gallon without having to wait another couple of hours for more water. When you want the water now, you can get that with the Viomi V6 and it does that beautifully. No restrictions. It’s also a much more financially smart investment because you’re not changing out the pressurized tanks every couple of years or guessing which filters need to be changed. Those bladders in the tanks always wear out, no matter how much you try to pump them back up. It’s a pain and it’s also a safety issue with the potential for bacteria or mold buildup if that water sits too long in the tank. This system avoids those issue altogether. Safer, and cheaper maintenance. Speaking of maintenance. . .There is an app that accompanies their line. Looks like they’ve already improved it since I got the M1. Very easy to connect and it will provide software updates to your unit. It will show you how many gallons have run through the system and much filter life is left. It really is a remarkable system and I think Viomi is going to be a much bigger name in the industry in the coming years. If you can get into a system at this price point, it’s a tremendous value for what you get.”

Customer Review: “This reverse osmosis filter system is well-designed and manufactured and has a compact footprint that should easily fit under most sinks. Installation is very simple, provided you have an unswitched outlet under the sink and an extra faucet hole in your sink. Although I didn’t have an outlet under the sink, I was able to use an inexpensive hole saw attachment on my drill to put a hole through the under-sink cabinet and run a short extension cord up under the sink. Aside from that, it’s a very easy process to install and set up.The filter system uses two filters. One is a reverse osmosis filter with a 24-month rating. The other is a PCB filter with a rating of 12 months. It’s easy enough to order an extra PCB filter with this unit so you’re set for the first 24 months. The faucet indicates how much life is left on the filters and the available smart phone app also includes this information. The app is a nice little extra but doesn’t add that much to the functionality of the system and it’s just as easy for me to look at the display on the faucet. I do appreciate that both faucet and app show the Total Dissolved Solids in the filtered water so I can add extra minerals to get it to my preferred 50ppm TDS. The water tastes very good coming out of the filter and even better with minerals added in.The faucet flow rate is pretty good at about 1oz per second and an 8 oz glass fills in about 9 seconds. The swivel spout on the faucet comes in handy when filling more than a glass since I can set a pan or pitcher on the side of the sink and swivel the faucet so I don’t have to hold the vessel for 30-40 seconds while it fills. Overall I really like this filter system and feel that it’s a solid value for the money. I’m glad I ordered it.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve installed the iSpring water filtration system for not just myself, but for my entire family—six households in total—and the experience has been consistently excellent across the board. The system itself is reliable, efficient, and delivers noticeably clean, great-tasting water. Installation was straightforward, and once set up, it runs smoothly with minimal maintenance. It’s given all of us peace of mind knowing we’re drinking high-quality filtered water every day. What really stands out, though, is the customer support. Nick has been incredibly helpful—always responsive, knowledgeable, and patient when answering any questions we had about installation, maintenance, or system performance. It’s rare to find that level of support, and it makes a big difference.Overall, I highly recommend iSpring to anyone considering a water filtration system. Between the product quality and outstanding customer service, it’s been a great investment for my entire family.”

Customer Review: “I’ve wanted one of these filters for years now, once I learned a bit about the chlorine, fluoride, and microplastics in my tap water. While my wife and son drink water from our Brita pitcher, I normally would just drink from our kitchen sink where the water isn’t as cold and not as painful for my sensitive teeth. I drink about two pots of coffee a day, take 1/2 gallon of water with me to work each day, and drink probably another 1/2 gallon per day while I’m home. It’s a lot of tap water! When I first discovered these filters, we were renting an apartment, so it didn’t seem worth the effort to install. Once we bought our house, there were a million other things to spend money on first! 2.5 years since we moved in, a solid Black Friday sale coupled with our wedding anniversary finally made this purchase happen.I ordered it at 11:00am this morning, and it was at my door before 2:00pm same day. I ended up installing the filters in my basement, directly underneath the kitchen sink, to save some space. The water tank is under the sink, for now (I may also move that to the basement). Having the filters in the basement made the install a bit slower, having to go up and down the stairs a bunch, but all in all it took me about 2.5 hours to install. I needed a drill to mount the filter rack to the wall, but other than that the only tool I needed was a pair of channel locks. The process was straightforward, and there was no point in time that I was confused as to what my next steps were. The only thing that tripped me up was the reverse osmosis filter itself, but that was only because I didn’t fully seat it in its housing at first. Once I fully popped it in, the housing cap screwed on, no problemThe push-to-connect fittings are very easy to work with, and I had no leaks once I brought the system to pressure. There’s even an included auto-stop valve that’s supposed to detect leaks and shut off the water automatically, which is a great peace of mind. The instructions direct you to visually check the install each day for the first two weeks. I’ll be doing that, but knowing that auto-stop is on there still makes me feel much better about things (I’m an electrician, not a plumber lol). Not wanting to use the drain saddle, I ran my drain line directly to the utility sink in my basement. I didn’t plan for it, but being able to physically see water leaving the drain is a convenient way to be able to tell if the system is actively filtering water in the moment, or whether the tank is fullThe water tastes great, better than the Brita in my opinion. I bought the version that has the Alkaline filter final stage to remineralize the water for taste, and I’m happy with that decision. Highly filtered water often tastes bland, but that’s not the case with this unit. I could fill up a bottle for some fancy spring water with this stuff, and I doubt anyone would notice there’s a differenceProduct quality seems solid, and the reviews lead me to believe it’ll all hold up for years to come. The faucet is a little wobbly, but I understand it can’t be too tight without risking failure. The flow rate from the faucet is perfectly adequate for a glass of water, too. Not as fast as the tap, but that’s to be expected. Tomorrow it’ll get put to the real test, when I fill up my 1/2 gallon water bottle and brew a pot of coffee. The reservoir tank supposedly holds 2.6gallons though, so I don’t foresee any issues. The rest of the family wakes up hours later, and the tank will no doubt be refilled by that point. On initial startup, the first tankful took about 1.5 hours to fill up. Per the instructions, I then poured that first tank out, presumably to remove any potential manufacturing contaminants. That waiting game for the first good glass of water was probably the hardest part of the whole installI’ve wanted one of these things for years. I finally purchased and installed one today, and I’m incredibly happy with the end result. I wish I did it sooner, but the next best time is today, right? The company seems to stand behind their products in terms of warranty and returns, and at such an attractive price, there’s really not much risk in giving this filter a shot in your home. I think you’ll be as satisfied as I am!”

Customer Review: “I’ll be honest — I bought this mainly because I was tired of carrying heavy cases of bottled water from the store. I wasn’t expecting anything amazing, but it really exceeded my expectations. The water quality honestly surprised me. It tastes very clean and smooth. No chlorine smell, no strange aftertaste. My roommate even stopped buying sparkling water as often because he says regular water from this tastes good enough on its own. What really stands out to me is the value. I looked at several RO systems in the $300–$350 range on Amazon, and this honestly performs just as well, if not better, at a much lower price. The real-time TDS display is something I really appreciate. Being able to see the numbers change gives you confidence that it’s actually working. The output water consistently shows very low readings. It’s also more convenient than I expected. The water production speed of the machine is faster than expected and enough for our daily use. It’s much quieter than I imagined too — you barely notice it running. It looks clean and modern on the counter and doesn’t feel bulky. So far, no leaks, no strange smells, no performance problems.Honestly, this system feels seriously underrated for what it offers at this price point. If you’re comparing options, this one is absolutely worth considering. Very happy with this purchase.”

The system itself is heavy and well built, and took about an hour for a professional plumber to install. Replacement filters are reasonable and simple to swap using the included wrench.”

Customer Review: “Like most people, we purchased this to clean up our local water. We live in a water district that gets it’s water from a series of wells. It’s mostly acceptable water, but every once and a while we would see a noticeable color change in the water for a day or two – a yellowish tint. The water district said there was no issue, but we were concerned what quality of water we were actually getting. We also have an on demand hot water heater. They are more prone to develop scale from poor water supply. The filter system installation was straightforward and easy. It is bigger than you might imagine, so measure to make sure that you’ll have the wall space required. We immediately noticed a difference in our water quality. The clarity of the water in our bath was noticeable. It almost felt like we had installed a water softener. The replacement filters are easy to replace. Watch for them on sale to save yourself a few dollars.High quality and a noticeable difference!”

Plus, my skin feels softer and my hair is much more manageable after showers.Installation was a breeze thanks to the clear instructions and included parts. There was no fussing around with leaks or complicated setups, which was a big relief. The bonus of having extra filters included is just the cherry on top, ensuring we’re well-prepared for the future. Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. i installed this whole house filter a few weeks ago because our city water tasted like pure chlorine and was leaving a nasty smell. the difference is crazy! the water from every single tap tastes completely clean now and my skin feels way softer after showering. it doesnt drop the water pressure at all either even with the washing machine and dishwasher running at the same time since it has a 15 gpm flow rate.my favorite part is definitely the clear housings. u can actually look at the filters and see all the gross sediment they are catching so u know exactly when its time to change them without having to guess. puting it together was super easy and it comes with everything u need right in the box, even an extra 2 sets of filters so u are totally covered for almost two years! the dual valve setup is a lifesaver to because u dont even have to shut off the main water line when u finally do need to swap a filter. definitely recommend this if u want great tasting water without spending a fortune!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve been using this reverse osmosis system for about three months now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best home upgrades I’ve made. The installation took a bit of time (about 1.5 hours), but the instructions were clear and all the parts were well organized. If you’re even a little handy, you’ll be fine.Once set up, the difference in water quality was immediate. No more chlorine taste or weird odors—just super clean, fresh-tasting water. I use it for drinking, cooking, and even brewing coffee, and everything tastes noticeably better. It’s also been great not having to lug home bottled water anymore. The tank fills fairly quickly, and pressure is good. I also appreciate that it comes with a extra sets of filters.Only minor downside is the space it takes up under the sink, but that’s to be expected with an RO system. Still well worth the trade-off for the quality of water you get.Highly recommend if you’re looking to ditch bottled water and want peace of mind about what you’re drinking.”

Customer Review: “Really good. This is my second one (new house).Install is straightforward, the instructions are clear and hoses are color coordinated. The only hard part would be drilling through your countertop, but I have always just used the pre-existing hole from those crappy old soap dispensers. You also have to drill a 1/4” hole in your drain pipe. Do NOT do this after the p-trap, it must be before. Installation took me maybe 2 hours, with a large portion of that just dedicated to testing for leaks along the way, and the awkward work space making simple tasks like tightening a nut more challenging.Really makes a big difference in the water quality. The water is perfect. The filter is not dead silent, but very quiet and nothing you would notice once the cabinet is closed. 100x quieter than your refrigerator. Pressure is decent as long as the tank has some water in it. Takes 2-3 hours to fill the tank, and a little over 5 minutes to drain it. I never have any problem running out of water with normal use. It’s pretty large so make sure you have space. The instructions do state that the tank can be placed sideways and that the filters themselves can be stood upright rather than mounted if desired. We figured we were spending $60/month on bottled water, so this pays for itself in three months, and saves a lot of unnecessary plastic waste from entering landfills and oceans.Note: do NOT touch the blue thing on the side of the tank. It looks like a disposable cap for shipping but it is actually a vital air valve.”

Complete Buying Guide for Point Of Entry Water Filtration System

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating point of entry water filtration systems, we prioritize several critical factors that determine real-world performance. First and foremost is filtration capability—how effectively the system removes contaminants like chlorine, lead, mercury, and volatile organic compounds. We examine certification standards such as NSF/ANSI ratings to ensure manufacturers meet rigorous testing protocols. Flow rate matters significantly for households with multiple simultaneous users, so we assess gallons per day (GPD) specifications against actual usage patterns. Maintenance requirements including filter replacement frequency, ease of service, and cost per replacement cycle are equally important for long-term value. Installation complexity affects both initial setup and future servicing, making compatibility with existing plumbing crucial. Finally, we consider additional features like leak detection, smart monitoring capabilities, and warranty coverage that enhance reliability and user experience.

Budget Planning

Point of entry water filtration systems represent a meaningful investment in your home’s infrastructure and health. Initial costs vary dramatically from under $200 for basic whole-house sediment filters to over $1,000 for advanced reverse osmosis systems with smart features. Remember that these are not one-time purchases—annual maintenance typically ranges from $50-$300 depending on system complexity and filter quality. Calculate your total cost of ownership by adding initial purchase price plus 3-5 years of filter replacements and potential professional service fees. Many systems pay for themselves within 12-24 months through reduced bottled water expenses and extended appliance lifespan. Always factor in installation costs if hiring professionals, though many modern systems feature DIY-friendly designs. Look for bundles that include extra filters or extended warranties to maximize value, and consider seasonal sales events for best deals on premium systems.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right point of entry water filtration system ultimately depends on your specific needs, budget constraints, and lifestyle preferences. Whether you prioritize countertop convenience, comprehensive whole-house protection, or cutting-edge smart technology, there’s a solution that will transform your water quality and protect your home’s plumbing. The systems featured in this guide represent the current market leaders in performance, reliability, and value—each offering distinct advantages for different household situations. Remember that the best system is the one you’ll actually maintain properly, so choose based on realistic assessment of your willingness to perform routine maintenance. With clean, great-tasting water flowing through every tap, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does a point of entry water filtration system differ from under-sink RO systems?

A: Point of entry (POE) systems treat ALL the water entering your home, protecting every fixture and appliance from contaminants. Under-sink reverse osmosis systems only filter water at a single tap, leaving other outlets vulnerable to untreated water. POE systems provide comprehensive protection for showers, washing machines, dishwashers, and irrigation systems, while under-sink units focus exclusively on drinking water quality.

Q: Can I install a point of entry water filtration system myself, or do I need a professional?

A: Many modern POE systems are designed for DIY installation, especially countertop models and basic whole-house filters with standard plumbing connections. However, complex reverse osmosis installations or systems requiring modifications to your main water line benefit from professional installation. Always check manufacturer specifications and your local plumbing codes before proceeding with any installation.

Q: How often do I need to replace filters in a point of entry water filtration system?

A: Filter replacement schedules vary significantly by system type and water quality. Basic sediment filters typically last 6-12 months, while carbon filters range from 6 months to 2 years. Reverse osmosis membranes usually require replacement every 2-3 years under normal conditions. Some advanced systems feature smart monitoring that alerts you when maintenance is due. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and monitor your water quality between scheduled changes.

Q: Will a point of entry water filtration system affect my water pressure?

A: Quality POE systems are engineered to maintain optimal water pressure while providing effective filtration. However, certain configurations—particularly multiple-stage systems or those with smaller diameter tubing—may cause slight pressure drops. Professional installation ensures proper sizing and configuration to minimize any impact on your existing water pressure. Modern systems typically lose less than 10% of original pressure.

Q: Do point of entry water filtration systems waste a lot of water?

A: Traditional reverse osmosis systems produce significant wastewater ratios (often 3:1 or worse), but newer technologies dramatically improve efficiency. Systems with 4:1 or 5:1 pure-to-waste ratios are now common, and some countertop models achieve even better ratios. The most efficient systems use permeate pumps or advanced membrane technologies to minimize water waste while maintaining excellent contaminant removal.

Investing in a quality point of entry water filtration system transforms not just your drinking water but your entire home’s water experience. From the clarity of your shower steam to the cleanliness of your laundry, every aspect of your daily routine benefits from this comprehensive protection. The systems reviewed here represent the best available today, each excelling in different areas whether you prioritize convenience, performance, value, or advanced features. Remember that regardless of which system you choose, consistent maintenance is key to sustained performance and water quality. Your future self—and your appliances—will thank you for making this worthwhile investment in one of your home’s most fundamental resources.
