Customer Reviews

Customer Review: We have had the ARC-914SBD (non-S meaning not stainless) for ~5 years. The nonstick coating is wearing out even though we only have ever used wood or the plastic spoon that comes with the rice cooker, which is why we replaced it with the stainless steel version. Outside of the coating, it was the perfect rice cooker. We’ve hosted parties and had enough rice when making the 8 cups cooked, or 4 cups uncooked, rice. After our first batch, we wish we switched sooner. We use kirkland’s brand rice and it has not stuck on the stainless for us yet.We have also steamed shrimp with old bay seasoning a lot. Even with thorough washing, it still smells like shrimp and old bay for the next 2 cooks, but the rice doesn’t retain that flavor. It’s so simple to use, worth the money with how long it has lasted, and quite versatile given the steaming ability with the tray tool. It scaled up from our family of two to our family of four (albeit with two young ones), very easily. I can foresee it working for our family’s dinners for a while!

Customer Review: Great product, very simple to use, we purchased this one as we wanted a stainless steel pot.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I purchased this rice cooker after having a much bigger, expensive digital cooker for almost 10 years but the inner pot became so scratched overtime that it needed to be replaced. After shopping around I realize that almost all rice cookers come with a coated, nonstick bowl. I began searching for a more durable and healthy stainless steel bowl and this is what I found. Its much smaller and simpler than my previous model and Id like to compare the two. This cooker with the stainless steel bowl only has two settings, once you plug it in the unit is set to warm, when the bowl is placed inside you can switch on the cook option. It cooks two cups of uncooked rice in max, about 20 min- which is WAY faster than my last rice cooker. The bowls in regards to stuck on food is exactly the same, not less or more, which I thought the steel bowl would be worse but its not at all. The key is to scrape the bowl and fluff the rice once its done cooking, the longer it sits the more it sticks. The lack of bells and whistles is actually pretty great, as the last cooker had 8 settings, (I actually baked a few cakes in it), but its just not necessary at all, all I want is rice. The simplicity makes it very easy to clean; theres just two parts, the lid and the bowl. The digital cooker had an attached lid that had to be wiped clean with a cloth but also had a silicone lip around it and a steam vent that wasn’t removable, so to be thorough it had to sit open for hours to allow any hidden moisture to dry up. An open rice cooker was always sitting out on my counter waiting to be put away once it was finally dry. The older cooker also had an excess water collector on the side of the machine that began to leak. But that old cooker did keep rice warm for the entire day. I assume that because of the steam valve on the lid of newer cooker that it will eventually dry out if left on warm all day.Its so small that it can be stored almost anywhere, and theres no plastic, which I love. The only issue is the flimsy and cheap scoop and measuring cup that actually came broken but I would’ve thrown them out anyway due to the poor quality. Overall I love the new rice cooker with the stainless steel bowl, its easy to clean and does a great job. I wouldn’t make more than 2 cups of rice in it but its perfect for what I need.

Customer Review: I grew up on a rice farm and rice makers were a must. I saw some reviews where they said it was messy or not cook through. That’s just not true. Make sure to wash your rice good. Rinse well and get that water clear. Put in your 2 or 3 cups of rice. My trick is that when I put the water in I use my index finger to measure, the water level should be right on the first finger crease from the tip. It’s not rocket science. My rice came out so beautifully. Perfect texture. Cooked through and was a wonderful addition to my meal. The pot washed very easily. No scrubbing or sticking really. Just soak it for a minute then wash. No problems at all. The trick is that when your rice is cooked. Unplug your machine. Don’t sit there and think you can leave it on warm all day and it not continue to cook or burn on warm. It’s a nice little piece of equipment! I’m very glad I got it, regardless of what other reviews said. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Here are some key features:- *Low-Carb Mode*: Reduces carbs and sugars in rice without compromising taste and texture, perfect for keto and health-conscious diets.- *3D Surround Heating*: Ensures even cooking for rice, quinoa, oatmeal, and more.- *24-Hour Delay Timer*: Plan meals in advance and have them ready exactly when needed.- *8-Hour Keep Warm*: Keeps rice warm and delicious for up to 8 hours.- *Nonstick Stainless Steel Inner Pot*: Easy to clean and durable.- *8 Easy-Touch Menu Options*: Includes low-carb rice, porridge, and more.Reviews suggest it’s a versatile and efficient appliance, perfect for larger families or meal-prepping enthusiasts. The stainless steel inner pot preserves nutrients and flavors, and is easy to clean.

Customer Review: The **Fsxczario 4L Low Carb Rice Cooker** is a modern, feature-packed appliance designed for households that want both convenience and a slightly healthier approach to cooking rice. With its 4L capacity and ability to cook up to 8 cups of rice, it’s well-suited for families, meal preppers, or anyone who regularly cooks grains in larger batches. One of the most talked-about features is its **low-carb (or low-starch) cooking function**. Like similar models, it works by separating excess starch during the cooking process—typically by using extra water and draining off the starchy liquid before steaming the rice to completion. This results in rice that is lighter and less sticky. In practice, the difference is noticeable in texture, though the actual reduction in carbohydrates may vary depending on rice type and portion size. Still, for those aiming to reduce starch intake slightly, it’s a useful feature to have. The **nonstick stainless steel inner pot** is a strong highlight. It offers better durability than traditional coated pots while still allowing for easy food release and cleanup. The pot heats evenly, which helps prevent scorching or uneven cooking, and it feels sturdy enough for long-term use. For everyday cooking, this balance of durability and convenience is a big plus.In terms of usability, the cooker is very approachable. The **LED display and simple control panel** make it easy to select cooking modes like white rice or porridge. Even if you’ve never used a digital rice cooker before, the layout is intuitive and straightforward. The **24-hour delay timer** is particularly useful—you can set everything up in advance and have rice ready right when you need it. Meanwhile, the **8-hour keep-warm function** does a good job maintaining temperature without drying out the rice too quickly.Performance-wise, the cooker is reliable. Standard white rice comes out fluffy and evenly cooked, with grains that stay separate rather than clumping together. The porridge function is also a nice addition, producing smooth, well-cooked results without constant stirring. Beyond rice, the cooker can handle simple steaming or grain-based dishes, making it more versatile than a basic model. There are a few trade-offs worth noting. The low-carb mode can slightly alter the traditional texture of rice, making it less sticky—something that may not appeal to everyone, especially if you prefer classic rice consistency. Additionally, like most 4L units, it does take up a bit of counter space. It’s not oversized, but it’s definitely not compact either.Another point to keep in mind is expectations around the “low-carb” feature. While it can reduce some starch, it doesn’t completely transform rice into a low-carb food. The benefit is more about **moderation and texture** rather than a dramatic nutritional shift.Overall, the Fsxczario 4L Low Carb Rice Cooker is a **well-rounded, practical kitchen appliance**. It combines modern features like a delay timer and digital controls with a durable inner pot and flexible cooking options. If you’re looking for a reliable rice cooker with a slight health-focused edge and enough capacity for family use, this model delivers solid performance and everyday convenience.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Update 7/10/25***3 year updateStill highly recommend this! We use it practical everyday and it is going strong, with zero issues! I feel like it’s hard to find things that last, so if you are looking for a staple in your kitchen then look no further. 🙂 hopefully I will be back to give a 5 year update.Update 10/26/23***One and a half year update and I still give this five stars!I have taken this across the country on trips and it has held up great for daily use. Still easy to clean, easy to store and nothing wrong with it! The only thing like I’d already said is I wish they’d make a bigger one. We always cook four cups of rice for our family of five. When we have friends over I wish we could make more, so I don’t have to cook rice twice. But, that complaint is really not a big deal.2. I wish there was an off button. Again, not a big deal.I am verrrrry happy with this purchase and will come back in a year to let everyone know how it’s holding up. ☺️ so far so good!

Customer Review: My 20 year old fancy fuzzy-logic rice cooker, which still worked perfectly, had a bowl which was non-stick, and the material had been flaking off despite my never using metal utensils on it. I looked everywhere for a replacement bowl which was NOT non-stick, including the unhelpful manufacturer, who kept telling me there were no PFAS in it, something I found hard to believe given its age. Lot of others were looking for non-coated stainless steel bowls too (to judge by Reddit’s “rice cooker” sub), with no success. All the bowls are apparently slightly different in size, so not really interchangeable. Measuring might not help as the lip may be the wrong thickness, etc— infuriating! And to top it off, it had always been too big for my 2 person household, so I wanted something smaller. I cleaned my $200 machine thoroughly and took it to the thrift store. After looking at a LOT of small, simple rice cookers, and finding only a few with stainless steel bowls, I bought this one. It’s pretty small, but makes plenty for 2 people, including more for the next day. It’s fast. It does its job perfectly. And if you’ve left it to warm a little too long and get any sticking, an over night soak deals with it;of do as I do and include a glut of olive oil or a bit of butter as it cooks, and you’ll have just about no sticking at all!I’ve used it for brown rice, mostly, but also white rice, hulled barley and quinoa. All great.I would buy this again in an instant, and will recommend it to everyone. It’s a very basic, SIMPLE rice cooker, and so much better for everyday use than the monster with its computer brain which looked like it had just landed from another galaxy, took up a lot of space, and was shedding non-stick coating into my food. Sometimes less IS more!

Customer Review: One of my best purchases – small enough that it can be stored in a drawer but big enough to be able to cook about 4 cups of rice. Easy to use and easy to clean. Usually use the low sugar feature; Had to make rice a few times to get the texture right for different types of rice. It cooks rice well once you get the water measurement down. The product looks pretty sleek too.

Customer Review: Love love love my rice cooker. I get so many compliments. It works great. Not fit for large quantities but it does the trick for my house of 3.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Great rice cooker. It was hard to find one that was stainless steel, much less an affordable stainless steel one. This one does the trick! It comes in fun colors and I got the red one. Great for my retro kitchen. The rice doesn’t stick badly and it’s easy to clean with a steel wool cleaning tool. I’m very happy. I like the simple rice cookers like this and it’s the perfect size for one person.

Customer Review: Great rice cooker for the price! No special settings, just great at doing what it is supposed to do… Cook rice! It isn’t non-stick, but I am glad not to have the extra chemicals get leached into my rice. Since it is stainless steel, it does much better in the dishwasher as well. Yes, the rice will stick, but once you take the rice out, fill to the top line with water and turn on the cooker again. Once the water is really hot, let it sit. The stuck-on stuff will be easier to clean. I have my old non-stick rice cooker in my donate pile. With the non-stick, I would have to hand-wash it. When I put that through the dishwasher, since it was aluminum under the non-stick surface, the aluminum would form a black coating in the dishwasher. I would have to either use SOS to scrub it off, or an abrasive scrub product like the Pink Stuff or something like that. With the stainless steel, the black (carbon ?) coating is no longer an issue.

Complete Buying Guide for Rice Cooker With Stainless Steel Inner Pot

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating the best rice cooker with stainless steel inner pot, we focus on several critical aspects. First, the grade of stainless steel matters—look for 304 food-grade material, which resists corrosion and doesn’t leach toxins. Next, consider capacity: match it to your household size (5 cups for 1–2 people, 8+ cups for families). Heating technology is equally vital; models with 3D surround or multi-directional heat distribute energy evenly, preventing burnt bottoms or uneven cooking. Additional features like delay timers, preset modes, and steamer baskets add convenience but aren’t essential for basic performance.

Budget Planning

You’ll find excellent stainless steel rice cookers across price ranges. Budget models ($30–$50) like the Elite Gourmet ERC006SS deliver solid performance without frills. Mid-range options ($60–$90), such as the Aroma ARC-914SBDS, offer more presets and better build quality. Premium choices ($100+) include advanced health features like low-carb or low-sugar functions. Remember: investing slightly more often means longer lifespan and fewer replacements. Always prioritize safety and durability over flashy extras unless they align with your cooking needs.

Final Thoughts

A high-quality rice cooker with stainless steel inner pot is a game-changer for home cooks. It ensures safer, healthier meals while reducing cleanup stress. Based on our extensive testing, the YOKEKON 8-Cup leads for overall value, combining capacity, safety, and reliability. However, smaller households might prefer the compact yet capable Novaspark Mini, while health-focused users will appreciate the measurable benefits of low-sugar models like the OCTAVO 5-Cup. Whatever your priority—speed, size, or smart features—there’s a perfect match among these top-rated picks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is stainless steel better than nonstick for rice cookers?

A: Yes, stainless steel is generally safer and more durable. Unlike nonstick coatings, which can degrade and release harmful fumes when scratched or heated excessively, stainless steel (especially 304 grade) resists wear, doesn’t chip, and won’t leach chemicals into your food. It also heats more evenly, leading to better-tasting rice.

Q: Can I put my stainless steel rice cooker pot in the dishwasher?

A: Absolutely. Most stainless steel inner pots are dishwasher-safe, making cleanup even easier. Just ensure you place it securely to avoid impact damage during the cycle. Handwashing is gentler but unnecessary for routine maintenance.

Q: Do stainless steel rice cookers require special care?

A: Not really. After each use, rinse the pot with warm water and wipe clean. For stubborn residue, soak briefly before washing. Avoid metal scouring pads unless absolutely needed—they can scratch the surface. Regular cleaning maintains both hygiene and appearance.

Q: Are low-carb or low-sugar rice cookers effective?

A: Yes, models with dedicated low-carb or low-sugar functions work by increasing water volume and draining excess starch during cooking. This reduces the glycemic load and lightens texture. While not a magic bullet for weight loss, it’s beneficial for diabetics or those monitoring carbohydrate intake.

Q: How do I choose the right size rice cooker?

A: Match capacity to your needs: 3–4 cups uncooked for 1–2 people, 5–6 cups for 3–4, and 8+ cups for families or meal prepping. Consider storage space too—larger units take more counter or cabinet room.

Ready to upgrade your kitchen? Explore our top-rated stainless steel rice cooker with steamer options above and find the perfect blend of performance, safety, and style for your home. Whether you’re cooking for two or hosting dinner parties, the right appliance makes all the difference.
