Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Well built, heated evenly. This was an upgrade from my old cooktop, and it’s been a great move. The difference showed right away. Heat control is super easy and accurate. Set it once and it stays right there. No jumping around, maintaining the temperature very well. I did notice the on-and-off cycling at first and thought it was unusual, but after checking with customer service, they explained it’s intentional in TEMP mode to prevent overheating and burning. After using it more, it actually makes sense and helps keep cooking more controlled. Very handy, intuitive response, and it runs quietly without being a distraction. The stainless steel build feels solid, performs exactly as advertised and definitely worth the extra cost.

Customer Review: this Pro induction cooktop with larger cooking coil brings pans and liquids up to temperature in no time as expected. It really cuts down on waiting when I’m boiling a large pot of water or preheating a pan for frying. Temperature adjustments are very precise, which makes it easy to keep a gentle simmer going or hold sauces right where I want them. The stainless steel housing feels sturdy and wipes clean with little effort. It also has a polished, professional look that makes it stand out compared to plastic portable burners. Also, the fan runs quietly in the background, just a low hum that never gets in the way of conversation. The extended timer has been a big help for slow-cooked meals, letting me leave a pot of stew on for hours. It’s easy to carry when I need it for an event, but still strong enough to handle daily cooking in the kitchen. For the price, this “Pro”cooktop delivers more than expected. I will buy one more as a housewarming gift for my friend.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I am really impressed with this Cusimax hot plate. I bought it as an extra cooking option for my kitchen and it has quickly become something I use more often than expected. The triple burner setup is very convenient. It heats up quickly and the cast iron cooktops distribute heat evenly, which makes cooking feel a lot more consistent compared to other portable burners I’ve used in the past. I’ve cooked everything from simple meals to more involved dishes, and it handles all of them well. The 11 level temperature settings are a big plus. It gives me a lot more control over how I cook, whether I need a low simmer or a higher heat for frying or boiling. The knobs are easy to adjust and feel solid, not flimsy.I also like that it has a compact design but still offers plenty of cooking space. It fits nicely on my counter without taking up too much room, which makes it perfect for small kitchens, apartments, or even as a backup during holidays or gatherings. It feels sturdy overall and doesn’t slide around during use. Cleaning is pretty straightforward too once it cools down, which makes it practical for everyday cooking.Overall, this is a reliable and powerful hot plate that works really well as a main or secondary cooking option. It heats evenly, gives great control, and is very convenient for different cooking situations.

Customer Review: This triple burner hot plate is a practical option if you need extra cooking space or don’t have access to a full stove. Having three burners makes it more versatile than the typical single or double units, and it’s helpful for preparing multiple dishes at once. The cast iron cooktops feel durable and retain heat well. Once they get up to temperature, they maintain consistent heat, which is useful for steady cooking. However, like most cast iron-style electric burners, they do take a bit of time to heat up and cool down, so there’s a slight learning curve when it comes to timing and temperature adjustments. The 11 temperature settings give you a decent range of control. You can go from low simmering to higher heat cooking, though the increments aren’t as precise as a traditional stovetop. It works well for general cooking tasks, but fine-tuning temperatures can take some trial and error. The unit itself feels reasonably sturdy, and the layout is spaced well enough to fit multiple pots or pans without too much crowding. That said, using three larger pans at once can feel a bit tight depending on their size.Overall, this is a solid and functional hot plate for supplemental cooking or small spaces. It offers good flexibility with three burners and holds heat well, but it does require a little patience when adjusting temperatures and managing cooking times.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This neat little countertop stove puts out plenty of well-distributed heat and doesn’t take up much space. Heats up fairly quickly but doesn’t draw so much current that it trips our 20 amp breakers during use.We ordered this little guy for our patio kitchen that has run for ages on a standard propane camp stove. We got tired of changing out bottles and dealing with the variable heat that camp stoves are famous for. The infinitely adjustable temperature knobs let us handle everything from pancakes to stir fry and cooking large pots of beans, etc. This little thing does it all with no fuss. The solid burners are wonderful. Stuff can’t drop down under them. The heat is not perfectly distributed. Each burner has a hot spot in the upper edge, but letting it heat up for a few minutes before use takes care of that. With both burners running flat out it draws 1500 watts, which is about 12.5 amps, so it works fine on a 20 amp circuit. We’ve run this thing for hours on end with no problem. And all of that at a great price point. We paid for it the first time we didn’t have to hook up a new propane bottle. We’re wondering why we didn’t do this years ago.

Customer Review: OK, so I am super impressed. I needed this to heat a HUGE stainless steel keg holding 12+ gallons of ferment and sure it takes a while to get something that large up to temp but it performed for DAYS without any issue. I was worried about heat continuously for that long causing issues with the unit but it shows no sign of issues at all. Again, super impressed.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Like many people, I like drinking coffee. I like hot, and iced, coffee, but I prefer the hot version, especially when it’s cold outside. I used to put my cup of coffee in the microwave, so that I could return it to that perfect sipping temperature, but that isn’t very efficient. Taking the time to go to the closest microwave is less time spent doing whatever it was that you were doing. On top of that, microwaves require a lot of electricity, even if you’re just using it briefly to raise the temperature of your coffee back to enjoyable levels, but what other options are there, you might ask. I started using candle warmers a long time ago. They keep coffee warm, and they don’t use much electricity, but warm coffee isn’t hot coffee.I stumbled upon this Elite Gourmet electric single burner, and had to try it. Will it keep my coffee hot? Will it still be more cost effective than continually reheating coffee in a microwave? Will it be safe enough to use anywhere, or I should say, anywhere with an electrical outlet, and a table, or desk, to put it on?For starters, it definitely keeps my cup of coffee hot. In fact, I only turned the dial up to 2, and my coffee was hot. So hot that I had to turn the dial down to between 1 and 2. For me, that’s the sweet spot. With the temperature dial set at 1.5, or one and a half, if maintained my coffee at the perfect temperature, for me. As for the difference in power usage, I will have to return, and update this review in 1-3 months, so please return to this review later to check for that update. I can say that I get a lot more done due to not trekking back and forth to a microwave, and getting more done, whether it’s work, hobby, or whatever, is always a good thing. Lastly, is it safe to use everywhere that makes sense? The short answer is……it depends. If you have enough space to place the burner so that it’s not close to a wall, or things that can melt, or catch on fire, the answer is yes, but the surface it’s setting on needs to be considered too. I used an infrared temperature gun to take intermittent temperature readings under, and around the burner, while keeping the burner setting at 2 for exactly one hour. I discovered that the hottest zone, other than the burner itself, was directly under the burner. So, whatever you’re using this burner for, whether it’s to keep your coffee hot, or for cooking food, you need to be careful, and make sure that you turn it off if you’re going to leave it unattended. Anything that gets hot enough to cook food on, is hot enough to be potentially dangerous, if you’re not being careful, and this device gets very hot, very quickly.Anyway, I really like this burner. It works excellent. It’s very easy to operate, it’s light enough to transport, providing you wait until it’s cooled down first, and it doesn’t take a lot of space to use on a counter, table, or desk. It’s easy to clean, but make sure to unplug it first, especially if you’re using a damp cloth, or sponge, and don’t use a scratch pad, or any abrasive cleaning pad, especially metal ones, like SOS, or Brillo. Please read the instructions before using it. I even think the burner looks nice. If I had to nitpick, I would like it even better if it had a digital display showing the temperature. While I have a infrared temperature gun, to check the temperature of each of the 1-Max dial settings, it would be nicer to have a digital display, so that you could see the temperature without having to use a separate device. I will say that the temperatures for each dial setting are consistently the same, after multiple different readings. It’s a great product, and I’m glad that I bought it. I’m considering purchasing another one, so that I don’t have to transport this one to and from places. I’ll update this review in a few months, to add how cost effective it is, compared to using a microwave. I hope this review helps.

Customer Review: As a professional chef with over 20 years of experience, I’ve worked with all kinds of cooking equipment—from industrial kitchens to simple home setups. But honestly, it wasn’t until I needed something practical to prepare meals for my cats, Camila and Camila, that I truly appreciated how useful a device like this can be.I spend time in Mexico, where I prefer not to rely on gas all the time—for both convenience and safety. This Elite Gourmet double burner has been a simple yet incredibly effective solution. I use it daily to boil chicken, cook vegetables, and heat water quickly for their meals. It heats up fast, and the temperature control is straightforward and reliable. One thing I really appreciate—as someone used to cleaning kitchens—is how easy it is to maintain. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and it’s good to go. It’s also compact, doesn’t take up much space, and is easy to move around when needed. It’s not a professional-grade stove, of course, but it does exactly what it promises. If you love cooking or care deeply about preparing food for your pets, or simply want a dependable alternative to gas, this is a great investment. And for the price, it honestly feels like a steal.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I received my hotplate about two weeks ago and have used it multiple times, happy with all of them. Heats up nicely and cooks evenly.I want to address some of the complaints in other reviews. First, with every product there are going to be a few that just don’t work. Return them and get one that does. If you do the registration process (email them a picture and your order #) described in the product instructions, they have a good warrant in case of problems.Second, it does heat up slowly but that is true of all electric burners, hotplates or stovetops. It takes a learning curve to figure out what settings you want but that’s life. It got plenty hot to fry things, lower temps are perfect for simmering. Most stoves just say “high, medium, low” but this one has numbers. Easy to figure that out. Also, once hot it does stay hot and even after you turn it off. That’s a function of it being heat-retaining cast iron instead of some cheaper metal. When I make eggs or pancakes, for example, I turn the burner off halfway through the first side and then flip them and let the retained heat finish side two. One thing to keep in mind is that the pan will be HOT so set it on a heat-resistant surface until it’s cooled down. That’s in the instructions. I find you get better results if you read them and pay heed. The unit itself is nice and stable, sturdy and heavier than most hotplates because it’s cast iron. I also love that there’s no gap around the burner for food or liquid to spill into and ruin everything. It takes a full-size skillet, it’s not tiny, but it doesn’t take up a huge amount of counterspace either.Yes, the off and on rub off the control knob pretty quickly but I put a little + and – on there with black tape and problem solved. Also, the big orange light when you turn it on is a pretty good clue.Read and follow the instructions and hopefully you’ll be as happy with yours as I am with mine.

Customer Review: We loved our first one so we bought a second one! We use it all the time when we do Hotpot gathering at our house! Functionally, it heats up so fast and very easy to use. My only concern is there is a burning smell when we first turn it on. We knew it did that from our first purchase so we made sure to turn on the second hot plate outside and make sure the smell is gone and everything is ok. We still can’t figure out why it smells like that in the beginning. Cord length is a little short so we always need an extension cord. We’ve had our first hot plate for a couple of years now so I’d say it’s got a good build quality. We like how portable and easy to store. Besides the smell, it’s great!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’ve tried a lot. Like A LOT of hot plates. As someone living without a kitchen and loves to cook, it has been a STRUGGLE. Now originally, I took everyone’s advice online. “You should use an induction cooktop!” but no. Absolutely not. I’ve tried two different models of induction, and all of them suck. They’re loud, small coil diameter, and don’t heat up your pan evenly. Plus, you can’t really toss foods in the pan since they auto turn off.Induction rant aside, this is pretty much one of the best options that you have for a single burner IMO. It has enough power to be able to boil water/pasta in an acceptable amount of time (with the lid on it was like 5 minutes for me). It’s also pretty easy to clean, and the base of the hotplate stays cool while in use (I do recommend using a cutting board/mat underneath it though). Truthfully, I’m not too big of a fan of the super sleek full glass design. It looks nice, yes, but your pan absolutely slips and slides, so I’d use handled pots whenever using this cooktop. The very top layer of glass has also started to chip I think? Not really chip, but rub away. It’s either that, or burn scars like any infrared cooktop. Regardless. Price-to-effectiveness ratio, this is literally one of the best options on the market. I haven’t tried the double burner option, only the 1200W, but I think it’s worth it. Ngl, temperature control is a bit iffy though.

Customer Review: Honestly… just straight up terrible. I hate that I spent hours reading reviews looking for different hot plates, and finally deciding on one, and this being the one I chose. All these cheap ceramic burners will shatter, this one shattered after a month. Then I returned it, and the replacement just shattered again after only a month. The heat level is fine, it works great otherwise, it just shatters over and over. I owned a single burner coil from OVENTE as well and the coils died in 2 months. The brand is pretty awful. The reality is, if you need something reliable, go induction if you can. Pick up some induction ready pots and pans second hand and it’ll be an infinitely better experience than buying these over and over. Waste of money.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: After using a ChangBERT induction cooktop for years, buying a second one felt like an easy decision. The first one has been incredibly sturdy and reliable for cooking in the backyard, which is exactly why I wanted another one for everyday use.I have been using the newer model for the past 3 months and it is as reliable and easy to use as the older model. What I love the most about it is its larger heating area, making it much better suited for larger pots and pans. It can heat a tall soup pot evenly all the way around, and it allows a wide pan of potatoes to brown consistently. I also appreciate the predictable, stable temperature control. When I turn it down, the heat settles calmly instead of fluctuating. Overall, this delivers excellent performance for the price and is a great complement to my older unit.

Customer Review: We bought this for our RV. Even though we have a propane cooktop most places we stay have full hookups so we’d rather use the power than our propane. I place it on a cover I have put over the top of my cooktop since my model did not come with a cover – that way I use my light and fan over my cooktop. The temp is easy to adjust, heats up quickly and cooks efficiently. It makes breakfast a quick and easy affair, as we eat alot of eggs and omelets. Once done and cooled, I just wipe it down and store it in my cabinet. It stores easily on its side in my pull out cabinet next to the stove. Highly recommend, great value and works great for our RV.

Complete Buying Guide for Hot Plates

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating hot plates, we prioritize power output, heating consistency, build quality, and ease of use. Induction models generally offer faster, more efficient heating with precise temperature control, while traditional electric burners provide broader cookware compatibility. Durability, safety features, and additional functions like timers also factor heavily into our recommendations.

Budget Planning

Hot plates range significantly in price—from budget-friendly options under $30 to premium induction models exceeding $150. For occasional use or small spaces, a basic electric burner suffices. Frequent cooks or those needing multiple burners should consider mid-range models with better temperature regulation and durability. Induction units offer superior performance but require compatible cookware investments.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right hot plate depends entirely on your cooking needs and environment. Whether you’re stocking a dorm room, expanding your kitchen capabilities, or seeking reliable backup heat, there’s a model that fits your lifestyle. Our top picks balance performance, value, and reliability to deliver exceptional daily cooking experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use any cookware with induction hot plates?

A: Only cookware with magnetic bases works with induction burners. Look for pots and pans labeled “induction compatible” or test them with a magnet—if it sticks, your cookware is suitable.

Q: How much electricity do hot plates consume?

A: Power consumption varies by model—single burners typically use 1000-1500W, while dual or triple units may draw 2500-4500W. Always check your circuit capacity before use.

Q: Are hot plates safe for apartment living?

A: Yes, most modern hot plates feature automatic shut-off, cool-touch exteriors, and stable bases that minimize fire risks. Just ensure proper ventilation and never leave them unattended.

Q: Do hot plates work during power outages?

A: No—hot plates require electricity to operate. During outages, consider portable camping stoves or solar cookers as alternatives.

Q: How do I clean my hot plate properly?

A: Always unplug and let the unit cool completely. Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive scrubbers on glass or enamel finishes. Never immerse electrical components in water.

Finding the best hot plate for daily cooking comes down to matching your specific needs with the right features and power level. Whether you choose a precision induction model or a reliable cast iron burner, investing in quality pays off in consistent meal preparation and kitchen convenience. Remember to consider your available space, cooking frequency, and preferred cookware when making your selection. With the right hot plate, you’ll enjoy flexible cooking options whether you’re in a small apartment, RV, or full-sized kitchen.
