The old set had a charging base they sat on and it had been a pain with the wire always dragging along the back of the counter. I wanted a set that had a non-charging base that you could plug into with USB-C. I also found my old set held less salt than I liked, so I wanted a larger container, which this has.I was worried about two things on this product. I hadn’t heard of the brand, so I had no idea whether it would grind well, and I wasn’t sure about whether the 360 degree switch (the entire cap) would be awkward versus one with a side button. I needn’t have worried about either of those things. This set grinds brilliantly, much more smoothly and consistently than the Cuisinart I was replacing. The motor feels powerful and doesn’t struggle at all as it grinds. In fact, the entire feel of the grinder is solid, while still being lightweight. It feels like a quality product. The 360 degree top button is really convenient. Wherever you are holding it, you can just reach up with a finger or thumb and it tilts the top that way to start the grind. It grinds with a light touch of the finger and is much more convenient than a single side button.Having the course/fine setting on the side is also much better than the ones with a dial on the bottom. It has distinct click-stops for each fineness setting, and it’s quick and easy to adjust. That makes it much easy to choose a fineness setting on the fly for each use. You quickly learn that, with one setting as your default, it takes no time to click it a bit more course for that steak and then finer again for veggies or whatever.
