Customer Review: I recently purchased the Hamilton Beach Electric Vegetable Chopper & Mini Food Processor, and I’ve been really happy with it. It’s compact, easy to use, and perfect for everyday cooking tasks. I mainly use it for chopping onions, garlic, and making small batches of sauces, and it works quickly and efficiently every time. No lining things up perfectly. just make sure the bottom cup is on, then drop in the blade, food then plop the top on & press! Love it so much,I’ve given one as a gift too!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Needed a new food processor and just did not want to break the bank on a Cuisinart. I got a great deal on this one and honestly, it has a lot more settings and even more power than an equivalent Cuisinart for less than half the price. Of course the first thing I did was a throw an onion quartered into it and hit the chop button. The automatic settings somehow know when it’s done and this onion was perfectly diced. Anyone that has ever tried to do this knows it never chops up evenly that quick. The large multi-level blade just moves everything around for very quick and efficient work. Hummus comes out smooth and creamy and perfect. It feels really good so you don’t have to worry about any spillage if you accidentally overfill it a bit. It’s also way quieter than my old one which sounded like a jet engine taking off. Overall, I can’t be happier with the price point and the quality of this item.

Customer Review: I have to confess that I was planning on keeping my Cuisinart forever, and just replacing the plastic parts as they broke. I was totally sure that no other food processor could be as good as it…. and I was totally wrong. A plastic safety feature broke off 2 days before Thanksgiving and I panicked because I couldn’t find anyplace to get a new part in time. So I spent an hour or so reading reviews for other food processors and chose this one. I bought it from Amazon because they could deliver it the next day, whereas the closest store I could pick one up was 6 hours away. I am telling you this so you understand that this was a desperation purchase. But I could NOT be happier. The first thing I noticed was that the turning mechanism was NOT part of the base, so there was no hole in the bottom of the plastic bowl like I was used to. This means that when I turn it on, that initial surge wouldn’t make stuff drip out of that center hole and get all over the food processor. It also means that if you want to soak it when you are done, the water won’t be pouring out of that hole – you can fill the bowl totally up with water. The lid has a gasket so if you overfill the bowl, it all stays inside when you turn it on. The chute is SOOO nice – no more of the funky extra piece that my Cuisinart had that makes it VERY difficult to clean when you are done. When you use the disk, it is low enough that any vibrations are NOT going to reduce the life span of the bowl, but high enough for you to put a reasonable amount of stuff inside before needing to remove some to add more. When I made a smoothie with frozen strawberries, the machine did it absolutely effortlessly. The chopping blade is amazing – the amount of time it takes for this gadget to chop everything into beautiful tiny pieces is miniscule – I was still putting stuff in the top when I noticed how well everything was already chopped. It has suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place, which is also VERY nice, since my Cuisinart liked to take a tour of my countertops. All 3 accessories fit inside the food processor for storage (I don’t know if the dough one would fit in there as well, but I will never use that). There are just a few things that I would like to see improved. The main one is that when you are done, all the lights start flashing. If you have sensory issues like I do, you may want to think twice before buying this – it make my heart start racing and I can’t turn the thing off fast enough! I would like the chute to be wide enough that I could put a whole cucumber in it to be sliced. I would REALLY like another disk that could make thicker slices, and I totally understand that it wouldn’t fit inside for storage. And it is going to take some time to get used to the pusher. It fits in the chute SO well, that when I first opened up the box, I thought it wasn’t included – only to later realize that it was already on the pusher. And I am still having that trouble 2 weeks later – not realizing that it is there until I put something in the chute and nothing comes out – LOL. My Cuisinart’s pusher was white plastic, so it was obvious, unlike this one that is made of the same material as the rest of it. But in general, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it. Oh – and one more thing. The bowl is higher than I am used to, and I was having trouble getting all the tiny garlic pieces off the sides of it. What I did was fill the bowl with water and dump it into a strainer. Ta da – the bottom of the strainer was full of the garlic, which I could easily put into my wok!

Cons:

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Finally found a meat grinder that is just what I need for my meal prep. 6L capacity is just amazing! I can make enough meat and veggies for the entire week with just one or two batches. That’s a timesaver for sure. The motor is powerful to the point where even I had half thawed pork butt, it smashed it easily. It works great with frozen meats and nuts, no problems at all. But what I think is just amazing is how well it chops everything. I tried meat, fruit, vegies and nuts. mostly from frozen or half thawed. I really like the stainless steel, for one, is solid, way more heavy-duty than plastic bowls I tried before. And yet it is still lightweight, which is a big plus when it comes to moving it around the counter. And of course, it is a cinch to clean, what with it being dishwasher safe. I must say is a big plus for me as it will save me a whole lot of hassle when I am done preparing my keto meals or when I am hosting a weekend BBQ. I am a bit surprised by the build quality for the price. It is a solid piece of equipment, one that makes cooking for a crowd a whole lot less of a chore.

Customer Review: I’ve been using this for about a week and it’s been working well so far. The 6L capacity is great for larger batches, and the motor is strong enough to handle meat and vegetables without issues. It’s easy to assemble and clean, though the blades are very sharp so you need to be careful. Noise level is about what you’d expect. It is a bit bulky to store, but overall it’s a reliable and practical option for the price.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Food Processor For Making Nut Butter

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting a food processor for nut butter, several key factors determine success. First, **motor power** is critical—hard nuts like almonds and cashews require at least 400W to grind efficiently without overheating. Next, consider **blade quality**: stainless steel blades stay sharper longer and resist rust. **Capacity** should match your needs; small batches suit 3–4 cup models, while families benefit from 9+ cup machines. **Ease of cleaning** is often overlooked but essential—look for dishwasher-safe parts and removable blades. Finally, **noise level** and **stability** matter, especially in shared spaces.

Budget Planning

You can find excellent nut butter processors across all price ranges. Entry-level models like the Hamilton Beach 3-Cup start around $30–$40 and are perfect for occasional use. Mid-range options (Ninja, Hamilton Beach 10-Cup) cost $80–$120 and offer better power and features. High-end choices (Cuisinart, KitchenAid) range from $150–$250 and deliver professional results with durability. Remember: investing slightly more often means fewer replacements and better performance over time.

Final Thoughts

Making nut butter at home is rewarding, healthy, and economical—but only if you have the right tool. Whether you choose a compact mini chopper or a heavy-duty grinder, prioritize motor strength, blade quality, and ease of use. Our top picks balance performance, price, and practicality, ensuring you get smooth, delicious nut butter every time. Start small if you’re new to homemade spreads, or go big if you’re committed to daily batches. Either way, the right food processor transforms a simple task into a seamless experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can any food processor make nut butter?

A: Not all food processors are equally effective. Models with weak motors (under 300W) may struggle with hard nuts and overheat quickly. Look for machines rated 400W or higher with strong stainless steel blades for best results.

Q: How long does it take to make nut butter in a food processor?

A: It typically takes 8–15 minutes of continuous processing, pausing occasionally to scrape down the sides. Harder nuts like almonds take longer than softer ones like cashews. Patience and consistency yield the smoothest texture.

Q: Do I need to roast nuts before making butter?

A: Roasting enhances flavor but isn’t necessary. Raw nuts work fine and retain more nutrients. If using raw nuts, consider adding a teaspoon of oil (like neutral avocado oil) after 5–7 minutes to help emulsify the butter.

Q: Can I make peanut butter in a regular blender instead?

A: Yes, but blenders often lack the concentrated blade action of food processors. Some users succeed with immersion blenders, but dedicated food processors generally produce smoother, creamier results faster and with less effort.

Q: Is it safe to clean food processor blades in the dishwasher?

A: Most modern food processors have dishwasher-safe bowls and blades, but check your manual. Hand-washing delicate parts preserves longevity. Always unplug the device before cleaning and ensure all components are completely dry before reassembling.

Ready to start making your own nut butter? Choose a model from our top-rated list above and enjoy fresh, chemical-free spreads straight from your kitchen. Whether you’re blending almonds, cashews, or peanuts, the right food processor makes all the difference—smooth, creamy, and full of flavor, every single time.
