The all-stainless steel exterior looks good, makes cleaning easy, and it actually remains cool to the touch when toasting with the exception of the (non-control) end panel. Some people have claimed the meal thickness is flimsy and deforms easily, but that is a misleading comment. This NOT a die cast metal toaster nor does it have the gauge of metal from a 1960s toaster, but the housing is structurally sound and even lighter than those toasters which is not a bad think if you store this in a cabinet as many people do.The controls/buttons operate very smoothly, the LEDs don’t bleed into adjacent buttons, and the “glance” feature works well. It’s not motor-driven like the Breville, but the manual operation is faster, less expensive, and there is less to go wrong. The footprint is among the smallest I’ve seen.The slots are a full 10.25″ long but they are only 1 5/16 ” wide. Not bad but 1 3/8″ or even 1.5″ would be better. In any case, the more common issue with large bread slices in my experience is length and not thickness, so the extra 1/4″ in length is welcome. The slots are also a bit deeper (maybe 1/4″) than many toasters, so that helps, too. The elements all heat up and browning is even. The bagel feature works but make sure to follow the diagram on the top since you have to face the cut sides outward and not inward like most toasters. This is rated 1500W which is what you want for varied breads to ensure relatively fast toasting but maintaining a soft interior.I’ve used this about 10 times over a week, so I can’t comment on long-term durability but it’s off to a good start. Unless you want to pay for better design esthetics and heavier materials, or you want a different technology (coil elements, touch screens, motors, etc.) this toaster toasts as well as one costing 5x as much based on my observations. But if you intend to store this in a base cabinet when not in use, then esthetics are irrelevant (although this is attractive) but weight and footprint do matter.Recommended.”
