I usually break the “corners” off while it’s still in the package, then drop the loose bits in the bottom, put the now octagon looking block of ramen on top of that, sprinkle the packet over it, and then fill it up most of the way with water so that the block is floating, throw the lid on and adjust the button to let steam escape and toss in the microwave for 4 minutes, and it’s good to go. Once it’s out of the microwave I usually let it sit for a few minutes so the noodles absorb more water and become thicker.
