Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I love the big cup. Just like all good processors you can never use the whole volume but this is bigger than most.. the thing has suction cups under it. I didn’t realize it until I was done using it and went to clean it and it was stuck pretty hard to my counter lol. It’s fast. I have only shredded cheese with it. 1 pound block fills the bowl. But I set the timer for a minute and it went through the entire block in life 10 seconds. I had cut it into 5 sections. Beautiful machine.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “Reviews are so sketchy these days so it’s no wonder trying to find a quality product is anxiety inducing. People do not take the time to look something over before trying to assemble it. The user manual and instruction booklet are in the description in PDF format and are printable. I might add they are also quite detailed. This was a common complaint in the reviews, “no instructions”. It’s been a number of years since there were user manuals included with a product. We had a Cuisinart food processor in 2019 but was enticed away by the bells and whistles of the Ninja all in one and gave it away in favor of the Ninja. Big mistake, less than 8 months later our food processor bowl fell apart, after they sent us 4 replacement bowls that didn’t fit they replaced the entire system with the same one they said no longer existed, it was a 2 1/2 month nightmare. Five years later the replacement Ninja was no longer usable the blender jug and food processor bowl was cracked and leaked. We take care of our things and hand washed the bowl and all parts so the Ninja was not something we were about to re-purchase.We just got this food processor this morning, it is an upgrade from the one we bought in 2019. The bowl is large and will help us in our large batch cooking. Simple and straightforward, quiet and efficient. Contrary to the negative reviews about the bowl being difficult to seat and the lid being hard to put on and lock in place we found that it was an extreme exaggeration. If you look at the base of the machine and line the bowl up with the divots in the bowl you will not have an issue putting it on. The blade goes in after the bowl is seated, not in conjunction with it. The same with the lid, there is a specific way to line it up, and it will easily lock into place and unlock just as easily for that matter if you take the time to look it over. There is no need to wrestle with it. My wife made falafel in it this morning and it worked like a champ! Clean up was very easy as well. We cook 90% of our meals from scratch so we actually use our appliances daily. With our medium sized family of 5 we are always chopping, prepping and spend a great deal of time in the kitchen. I feel the quality and power is here and will keep up with our family’s needs. I also feel that this machine will last for years if it is well maintained.Take the time to look at things before you try to assemble them and most definitely before leaving a bad review. When others are looking at making a large purchase like this, hasty reviews are not helpful. With inflation and horrible products on the market that are junk it’s hard enough to make an informed decision without having to sort through negative things that are most often user error not the product itself.”
Customer Review: “I bought used in new condition. Everything looked absolutely new. I used it for the first time to slice cabbage and shred carrots for slaw. Super fast and powerful and great results with very little wasted food.I wasn’t sure I needed the 14c capacity, but for high volume food like cabbage, it saved a lot of effort. I did two small cabbages before I had to empty the bowl. This is a week’s worth of salad starter for just me. You don’t need to be feeding an army to justify the large capacity. For veggies, I could clean with just a rinse. I expect it’ll be a little more effort to clean up from making sauces, but still probably easier than my old processor.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “This is the 2d Cuisinart Duet I’ve bought. After 10+ years of daily smoothies and other uses, my previous one gave up the ghost. I was disappointed because my OG Cuisinart processor didn’t die until it was more than 40! But 10+ (I think it’s more like 13 or 14) is pretty good these days. This blender/small processor is so simple and easy to use. The same motor base fits the glass blender jar and the not-glass (acrylic?) processor bowl. You just set the jar or bowl down on the base and push a button. The processor bowl is small, only 3 cups, but it’s perfect if you’re not making a big dish. And Cuisinart has improved the processor blades: instead of separate shredder and slicer blades like my old one had, this one has one reversible blade, one side for shredding and one side for slicing, both thin. It’s easy to take apart for cleaning, and most parts can go in the dishwasher. Of course, the motor base is not submersible – it’s just wiped off with a damp cloth, which is easy because the buttons are smooth so nothing sticks up and gets stuff caught between them. It’s a very sleek assembly, too. The only thing I don’t like is that it only comes in gray. I have a white kitchen and prefer white for the appliances that stay out on the countertop, but it seems no one makes them any more. “Stainless steel” and “brushed chrome” now seem to be used more as names for a color (gray) than the name of a material (metal, as opposed to plastic). Cuisinart isn’t the only company that does this. But if you order a “stainless steel” or “brushed chrome” Duet, the cover of the motor base will be plastic, not metal. The blades, however, are actually stainless steel.Welp, just over 2 years and the motor died.”
Customer Review: “I tormented myself trying to pick a glass blender. All the reviews on amazon were lack luster. I chose this one with low expectations but have been very happy with my purchase. I’ve had the unit for 4 months.Blender: love that the pitcher made of glass & it was on the mamavation website approved list. I’ve been able to make smoothies, cauliflower rice, cauliflower mashed potatoes, pumpkin puree, hummus and much more! The smoothies are made with no issues – once you get the appropriate liquid amount, it blends smoothly. The hummus was VERY this and it put the blender to work. I had to start and stop quite a bit, but it’s a blender – it’s not intended to make hummus – but alas It made hummus! I’de rather make my food in glass with a MINOR inconvenience of stopping to stir than use a plastic pitcher.TIP – if you’re trying to make something very VERY this (ex. hummus) and the blades are not catching the food, push the food down (fills and air pocket that formed) and toward the center (directly over blade assembly). Then try blending again & repeat.Food Processor: this attachment is plastic, so I really had no intentions of using it. I ended up in a pinch and needed ground pistachios. The food processor worked flawlessly!”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I like the results. Usually grated carrots for horses.Still haven’t figured out specifics steps to use. Went on line to watch generic tutorials. Grated carrots have turned the grating disk piece green? The manual doesn’t do a good job in my opinion. I got a message that was no where in the manual. My quality engineering skills went to work analyzing when it happens. Should be in manual. It was on sale and not expensive compared to others.”
Customer Review: “I purchased on February 1, 2026, did not inbox until needed for Easter. Absolutely cheaply constructed piece of junk! Never worked, literally falling apart. The square nut that attaches to the piece that makes it turn is stripped, Therefore, processor is not usable. The plastic is even cheap, you can tell by how light weight it is. Do not purchase!”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “Purchased Feb 15 2015!!! It’s August 2025 & still going strong! I got this originally to make homemade mayo back then (in attempts to avoid seed oil & HFCS) & still do this today!! This is the best processor for that process because the pusher piece has 2 tiny holes in it, so after you blend your eggs & vinegar (& spices) you leave it running & pour your measured oil in there & it slowly streams it in… ZERO messing up or getting the oil too fast like I’ve done with my blender or immersion blender. Hands down the best way to make mayo…. also the disc is incredible for grating cheese (because who wants wood pulp & antibiotics in their cheese) as well as veggies like carrots for slaw or baked goods & cucumbers for tzatziki sauce. Turn the disc to the other side to do slicing, I’ll use this for cabbage for slaw. The little side sweeping turn thing is super useful so you never have to open to scrape the sides down while processing. Such a great processor!!I’m in shock mine still runs, but if it dies I will immediately buy the same one again.PS: Homemade mayo… recipe is 1:1:1…. 1 egg (yes, white & yolk both) to 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1 cup oil (I use extra light tasting olive oil or usually Avocado oil as I hate the store-bought avocado oil mayos, yuck, I love Helmans but can’t with those ingredients) & add whatever seasonings, sometimes I add a tsp of yellow mustard, onion powder & use this as a base for everything; special sauce, yum-yum sauce, tarter sauce, chicken sauce, thousand island, ranch, veggie dips, as a base for parmesan crust on baked salmon… I literally make a batch of mayo every 8-10 days! (I do 2 or 3x recipe).Bottom Line: this processor is a MUST have if you cook from scratch a lot to have healthier ingredients AND like to save money by making things yourself.”
Customer Review: “Works really well. I have put it through it’s paces used it a lot. Still works flawlessly. The suction cup feet keep it from walking away while still being easy to move when I need to. Very easy to clean. Directions are easy to follow, well written.”
Complete Buying Guide for Food Processors
Essential Factors We Consider
When evaluating the best food processors, we focus on several key criteria that determine real-world performance and usability. Capacity is crucial—match the bowl size to your typical cooking needs, whether you’re preparing meals for one or hosting dinner parties. Motor power (measured in watts) affects how well the machine handles tough ingredients like nuts, frozen foods, or thick doughs. Look for at least 500W for reliable performance, though professional-grade models exceed 700W. Blade quality and variety significantly impact versatility, so consider machines with multiple disc attachments for slicing, shredding, and grating. Additional features like preset programs, timers, and safety interlocks enhance convenience and reliability. Finally, assess ease of cleaning—removable, dishwasher-safe components save time and frustration.
Budget Planning
Food processors range dramatically in price, from budget-friendly $30 models to professional $500+ units. Entry-level options ($30-$60) like the Hamilton Beach 3-cup chopper are perfect for occasional use or small households, offering basic functionality without frills. Mid-range models ($70-$150) such as the Cuisinart Duet or SPZTJK 3-speed processor deliver excellent value with improved motors and more features. Premium units ($160-$300+) like the Cuisinart 14-cup or 10-in-1 blender/processor combo justify their cost with commercial-grade performance, advanced controls, and superior build quality. Remember that higher initial investment often means longer lifespan and fewer replacements needed over time. Always factor in the cost of additional accessories when comparing models.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right food processor ultimately depends on your cooking habits, kitchen space, and budget. For everyday meal prep, a mid-sized model with multiple attachments offers the best balance of capability and convenience. If you’re serious about baking or regularly prepare large batches, invest in a higher-powered machine with robust construction. The key is matching the processor’s features to your actual usage patterns—don’t pay for capacity you’ll never use, but don’t skimp on power for tough jobs either. With the right choice, your food processor becomes an indispensable kitchen ally that saves time, reduces waste, and unlocks new culinary possibilities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size food processor should I buy for my family?
A: Consider your household size and cooking frequency. For 1-2 people, a 3-5 cup model is sufficient for daily vegetable prep. Families of 3-4 benefit from 8-10 cup processors, while larger families or frequent entertainers should opt for 12+ cup models that handle big batches efficiently.
Q: How many watts do I need in a food processor?
A: For basic chopping and slicing, 300-400W is adequate. Regular meal prep and occasional dough work require 500-700W. Heavy-duty use including nuts, ice, or continuous operation demands 700W+ motors for optimal performance and longevity.
Q: Are glass bowls better than plastic?
A: Glass bowls offer superior durability and won’t absorb odors or stains like plastic. They’re also microwave-safe for warming ingredients. However, glass is heavier and more fragile than plastic. Choose based on your priorities—durability and aesthetics favor glass, while lightweight convenience favors plastic.
Q: How often should I replace my food processor blades?
A: Well-maintained stainless steel blades typically last 5-10 years with regular use. Signs it’s time to replace include reduced performance, visible nicks or bends, difficulty cleaning, or if the manufacturer recommends replacement after heavy use. Always hand-wash blades to extend their life.
Q: Can I make dough in a food processor?
A: Yes, but only for certain types of dough. Shortcrust pastry, cookie dough, and quick bread batters work well. Avoid processors with plastic bowls when making yeast doughs, as the heat generated during kneading can warp plastic. Models with metal bowls or dedicated dough blades handle yeast doughs better.
