Customer Review: Love this slow cooker! It’s the perfect casserole size! Just what I was looking for! It’s about 2” deep which is perfect for doing layered casseroles instead of the regular deep crock pot. It is heavier but it looks great on your counter.
Customer Review: Love the color I picked, the light mint. Works like it should. I really love the rubber band that keeps the lid on tightly…just be careful not to burn yourself readjusting it if you have to check or add to your dish while cooking. It is a little hard adjusting it.

Customer Review: This 7-quart Crock-Pot is an absolute workhorse. The size is perfect for feeding a family of five with plenty of leftovers. If you want a reliable “set it and forget it” appliance, this is it.
Customer Review: I wanted a BIG slow cooker since *for some reason* my family of six insists on eating three meals a day Every. Single. Day. Ugh! Luckily my MIL recognized my struggle and bought me the fanciest device I’d ever seen for Christmas: A Calphalon 7 Qt Digital Slow Cooker. I was in love with it… at first. Then I noticed liquid seeping into the base after each use. Long story short, after three complimentary replacement parts I still had a broken appliance and Calphalon wrote me an E-mail using the exact words: “…Calphalon has made the decision to stop producing electronics…” then issued me a refund. I turned around and bought a MaxiMatic 8 qt Slow Cooker (go big or go home, right?). It cooked waaaaay too hot (it boiled liquid on the lowest setting in under 5 minutes!) then stopped working entirely after a few months. I received my refund, bought this Crock-pot… and the rest, as they say, is history!

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I had to return the Hamilton Beach programmable one because it kept shutting off for no reason. I was going to go back to the manual style because I blamed my electric supply. I’m very glad I decided to try this Crockpot. It is WAY better. It hasn’t shut itself off once. I also love that you don’t have to use the timer when you don’t need it. The timer is very handy but you can also just put it on one of the 3 settings and go to work. It will still be on when you get home. If you do use the timer, it’ll automatically switch to warm when its done. Lastly, it holds a better, and more consistent temperature on each setting than HB did. Its a way better slow cooker. WAY better.
Customer Review: Great crockpot! Might have to shorten cooking time a bit going forward. It seems a little hotter than my last.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Admittedly I am a Crock Pot snob. Let me explain. I love the old, original Crock Pots. I have actually burned out two, my husband pulled one off the counter and broke it, and I now have 3 of those in my pantry. One of those was bought in an antique shop, in the original box and packaging never having been used. But when wanting to make a large batch or spaghetti, chili, or whole chicken one was just not large enough. Enter a different brand 6qt slow cooker. After only about two years the writing was worn off of the dial, the metal portion was stained beyond belief, and the dial itself was rickety. It was unreliable often over heating and boiling when it should not have been. So, when Prime Day came around and I discovered the 8qt Crock Pot brand slow cooker it was love and first sight. Generally, I am not fond of the newer removable ceramic cookers for several reasons. It is too easy to damage or break the ceramic removable pot, the cords are way too short, but primarily because there is no insulation whatsoever; just brushing up against the cooker can quickly burn. When bustling around the kitchen that can happen all too easily, but I understand that is the way they are made these days; grin and bear it I will. Even though it is touted to make clean up easier, I am not sure that is the case with any removable pot.
Customer Review: Excellent Crock Pot. Works Great and has plenty of room… My 7 Quart unit was just a little too small for when I make Pinto Beans… The Extra Quart makes all the difference and it works great. Very efficient, and I would highly recommend. Fits will in the Dishwasher for easy cleaning. Price is great and holds the heat in well. I think this unit will last quite a long time.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Great crockpot. Wasn’t sure of the brand, but have been very pleased with its operation. Would be great for a big family or carry in dinners. Exactly what I needed.
Customer Review: I have NEVER written a review on anything, and I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years, but this slow cooker has inspired me to give my humble opinion.I didn’t think there was such a thing as a bad slow cooker. So when my last slow cooker bit the dust during the holidays last year, I just bopped on to Amazon and figured that I would pick up a medium of the road slow cooker for a reasonable price and all would be well with the world, once again.Since I was planning on serving a beef roast for Christmas dinner, I wanted to make sure that I got one big enough and it wouldn’t take 15 hours to cook. I quickly browsed through the various slow cookers on Amazon, read a few reviews and purchased what I thought was a lovely cooker – Crock-Pot SCCPVL610-S 6-Quart Programmable Cook & Carry Oval Slow Cooker, Stainless Steel. It was only $50.00 and I figured that it would fit the bill, nicely.Boy, was I wrong! Right out of the box, Christmas Day, I could tell that this slow cooker and I weren’t going to get along. It heated up way too quickly, ran HOT the entire cooking time (on low), and by the time I was ready to serve dinner most of it was stuck to the side of the cooker. Dinner tasted slightly burnt, the veggies were WAY over cooked and even after soaking the darn thing for 2 hours after serving the meal, I never could get all the stuck on crud off the sides.

Great for big gatherings or making large amounts of homemade sauces, soups, roasts, etc.
Customer Review: It’s a large slow cooker at ten quarts. It also has some pretty good weight to it.When using the cooker, it should be set up in a location where food can be dished out directly from the cooker. Complete Buying Guide for Slow Cookers
Essential Factors We Consider
When evaluating slow cookers, we prioritize capacity, ease of use, build quality, and cleanability. Capacity should match your household size—small families may only need 3–4 quarts, while large gatherings require 8+ quarts. Look for removable stoneware inserts that are dishwasher safe, and consider whether manual dials or digital timers suit your routine better. Durability matters: opt for brands with proven track records and positive long-term reviews.
Budget Planning
Slow cookers range from $25 to over $200. Basic manual models offer excellent value starting around $30, ideal for occasional use. Mid-range programmable units ($60–$100) add convenience without sacrificing reliability. Premium multi-cookers like the Ninja PossibleCooker™ or Instant Pot exceed $150 but replace several appliances. Remember: cheaper doesn’t always mean worse—many budget models perform admirably for years. Always compare warranties and customer feedback before deciding.
Final Thoughts
A great slow cooker transforms busy days into peaceful evenings. Whether you choose a compact 3-quart model for solo meals or a 10-quart beast for holiday feasts, consistency, safety, and simplicity matter most. Brands like Crock-Pot and Hamilton Beach lead the pack with dependable designs, while innovators like Ninja and Instant Pot expand what’s possible. Pick based on your cooking habits, space, and budget—and enjoy effortless, delicious meals all year round.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size slow cooker do I need for my family?
A: A 3–4 quart model suits 1–3 people, 6 quarts feeds 5–7, and 8+ quarts are best for 8+ guests. Consider leftovers and batch cooking when choosing.
Q: Can I leave my slow cooker unattended overnight?
A: Yes, most modern slow cookers have auto shut-off or stay-warm functions. However, always follow manufacturer guidelines and avoid covering vents.
Q: Are ceramic stoneware inserts dishwasher safe?
A: Most reputable brands (like Crock-Pot and Hamilton Beach) include dishwasher-safe stoneware. Always check labels—some older models require hand washing.
Q: How do I clean baked-on residue?
A: Fill with warm water and dish soap, soak overnight, then scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid metal scouring pads that scratch interiors.
Q: Do programmable slow cookers really last longer than manual ones?
A: Not necessarily. While manual models have fewer parts that can fail, many modern programmable units are built durably. Focus on brand reputation and warranty terms rather than features alone.
