Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I had a chance to test out my new WinTemp Boiling Water Dispenser, and overall, I’m super impressed. When it ays boiling, it is not kidding. The water got so hot that it began to melt the plastic jar I was using to test it out with. The build quality is A+. It’s got a really nice heavy stainless steel spigot with both hot and cold water valves, and all the plumbing that is needed to set it up was included (minus whatever you will need to connect to your fresh water supply), and setup was straightforward. All the fittings are quick connect except for the one flex line and it has a built in tool for tighting it to the heater. Everything was neatly packed and labeled. It heats water fast—took about 12-15 minutes to get from room temp to over 200°F. I reallylike that it’s only 1300 watts, which is nice since I can run it off of an existing single 110 outlet, just plug and play. It would be nice if the hoses were a bit longer but but I dont see it really being an issue for my set up—another foot or so would make installation more flexible. But other than that I am really happy with it overall. Perfect for my garage setup or the off-grid cabin I’m planning. Highly recommend!”

Customer Review: “Holds temp and can be adjusted with my phone. I’ve had the other product that’s popular with the big box stores and this is SOOOO much better. Easy install but is a little larger than the others. Don’t mind it though since it’s light years ahead of the other product. FYI: I had the standard 1&3/8 hole which the faucet did cover in case people wanted to know.”

Customer Review: “Love our new Instahot spicket. Had a contractor friend come install it for me. He was able to mount it underneath the sink next to the filter, so it’s all pretty much hidden from view. He was able to hook up the filter easily so now the spicket provides hot and cold filtered water 24/7. The water is hot, so be careful. He recommended 2 shy of the hottest setting and he was right, it provides water hot enough for a very hot cup of coffee or tea. This thing makes me smile just about everyday. We also ditched our electric hot water pot…which gave us more room on the counter.”

Customer Review: “So far so good. Amazing how this thing works. Unit is quite and can fill a medium pot to 150 degrees without stopping, trust me I measured temperature. Unit is great package it comes with tank and installation is somewhat easy. Hoses just slide on and click together. Just remember that you will need to “Y”or”T” your supply line, as these parts are not supplied. A great looking unit. Cold water is not chilled by the way just comes out normal temmperature.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is your basic instant hot water dispenser made by InSinkErator. It is easily operated with safety features that prevent accidentally dispensing hot water. Simple and effective and a design that blends into any kitchen. Silent operation and easy DIY installation if you’re handy. I purchased this along with the InSinkErator hot water heater and they work very efficiently.”

Customer Review: “I attached three photos. Original faucets and new main after remodel (1); upgraded faucets w brushed brass insinkerator hot water dispenser (2), final fix with working insinkerator French gold hot water dispenser that works and doesn’t drip.Since my kitchen upgrade in 2018 I kept my old original insinkerator hot water, tank, dispenser and a cold water dispenser. Both are hooked up to water filtration while the main faucet is not. Water heater tanks tend to last just up to 10 years before they fail, I’m at the tail end of my second one which is still installed. New faucet but I really wanted a brushed gold it just wasn’t as available then as they are now.First picture (1) is how things looked after the remodel. Very nice but I wanted brushed gold fixtures and accents in my kitchen. In December I ordered the same Kohler faucet in brushed gold along with a Kraus water faucet. Also ordered a new dispenser but in brushed bronze. Took picture (2) after all were installed by a plumber. If you are trying to decide between the brushed bronze and French gold, the brushed bronze didn’t look exactly like the photo advertised. It has much darker “brush marks” than you can see in the photo. I would have kept it as is but as others reported the faucet failed 5 minutes after install. It dripped and had a failed air valve. Took it back and decided to order another in the French gold to see if it would better match. Was not available through retail outlets so ordered on Amazon.First, it is installed and it works, no drips and from picture three (3) I think it looks better with the brushed gold faucets. French gold is a shiny gold versus the brushed brass. The outer parts of the faucet are metal so in time I will add acetone to take off the shiny top coat and work from there to better match the color. I’m in no rush. I love the look overall and am happy everything works and looks like I originally envisioned.”

Complete Buying Guide for Instant Hot Water Dispenser

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating instant hot water dispensers, we focus on several key aspects: temperature range, ease of installation, tank capacity, build quality, safety features, and compatibility with existing plumbing. High-quality models use stainless steel tanks to resist corrosion and extend lifespan. Look for child safety locks, automatic shut-off, and tool-free connections for added convenience and security. Compatibility with your current faucet or sink configuration is also crucial—some systems require specific mounting holes or under-sink clearance.

Budget Planning

Entry-level models typically start around $100–$150 and include both faucet and tank. Mid-range options ($150–$250) often feature digital controls, better materials, or additional safety mechanisms. Premium systems ($250+) may offer smart connectivity, larger capacities, or advanced filtration integration. Remember to factor in potential installation costs if hiring a plumber. While cheaper alternatives exist, investing in a reputable brand ensures longer service life and fewer repair headaches down the road.

Final Thoughts

An instant hot water dispenser transforms daily kitchen routines by eliminating wait times for boiling water. Whether you choose a full system or individual components, prioritize safety, ease of use, and compatibility with your space. Brands like InSinkErator lead the market with reliable performance and widespread support, but newer entrants offer innovative features at competitive prices. Ultimately, the best choice balances your specific needs—whether that’s precise temperature control, aesthetic appeal, or budget constraints—without sacrificing core functionality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does an instant hot water dispenser work?

A: These systems store preheated water in an insulated tank (usually 2–3 quarts) and dispense it on demand using a dedicated faucet. When triggered, a heating element rapidly reheats the remaining water to near-boiling temperatures (typically 180–200°F), ensuring consistent output without waiting for a kettle or stove.

Q: Do I need special plumbing for installation?

A: Most units connect directly to your existing cold water line and require a standard electrical outlet under the sink. Installation usually involves adding a T-fitting to your main supply line and routing power to the unit. Some kits include all necessary adapters, but consulting a licensed plumber is wise if you’re unsure about your setup.

Q: How often do I need to refill the tank?

A: Tank size determines refill frequency—larger tanks (3+ quarts) last longer between fills. On average, expect to refill every 1–2 weeks depending on usage intensity. Frequent users may need daily refills, while light users might go several weeks between top-ups.

Q: Is it safe for children to use?

A: Reputable models include child safety locks and auto-shutoff mechanisms to prevent burns. Always supervise young children near the dispenser and ensure the safety features are engaged during unsupervised periods. Avoid disabling any protective functions.

Q: Can I install this myself?

A: Many homeowners successfully install these systems using basic tools and following manufacturer instructions. However, if you’re uncomfortable working with water lines or electricity, hiring a professional plumber ensures proper setup and warranty compliance. Complex installations involving major pipe rerouting may require expert assistance.

Upgrading to an instant hot water dispenser is more than a convenience—it’s a lifestyle improvement that saves time, energy, and counter space. From simplifying tea rituals to speeding up pasta prep, these devices integrate seamlessly into modern kitchens. Explore our top picks above and choose the model that aligns with your priorities.
