We have turned it off and reset it to the small setting but still only get the larger pieces.Good little machine, received it in a Friday evening and by Sunday morning I had a full bag of ice. Customer Review: “I’ve only had this for a couple weeks, and so far nothing negative. This machine rocks as follows:-Love the stainless steel, sleek design. Matches everything in my kitchen. Machine is taller than I realized, so be sure you’ve factored in spacing required for going under cabinets in kitchen, or put in open space with nothing above it. Mine fits comfortably under a cabinet.-Performs as expected. Inside stays clean. We use purified water only for ice cubes, which reduces and even eliminates staining. No smell inside or out.-Super easy to start and stop. You’re only going to be using the start and select buttons. That’s it. Easy to clean and wipe down. Water resistant.-Not super loud. Pretty minimal IMO.-Creates ice pretty quick but allow it to go through several cycles of you want more ice.-To prevent ice from melting once dispensed in basket, I scoop it out immediately and put it in a Ziploc freezer bag. Each time ice is dispensed I do it again. Pull the bag out of the freezer and repeat process…scoop ice in, seal and put back in freezer. This way we have a whole gallon size bag full of ice in the freezer ready to be used that same day or next day. This does mean you’d have to be on standby, but I love doing it this way. Ice generally doesn’t freeze together either making it difficult to break apart once in freezer. When I put the full bag of ice in my freezer, I lay it flat so there’s no ice clumps. Easy peasy.The only negative thing IMO is that this product doesn’t come with a magnetic strip or fixture of some kind to be able to keep the white scoop stored on the side when not in use. Not a deal breaker, though…my husband and I plan on investing in one just to keep the scooper off the counter. I usually sit it on top of the machine where the window is. Still a 5 star product.”

Customer Review: “My husband was tired of travelling to the store every two or three days to buy me ice. Not just any ice at any store, it had to be a certain ice. Bless him, I have the best husband. I drink lots of ice water and love to chew on the ice. Our new home came with a fancy fridge with a built in ice maker/crusher that we don’t use anymore. The ice is too hard, and when you use the crushing option, it provides you with smaller chunks of razor like ice shards. Needless to say we don’t even have it hooked up anymore. The ice I prefer is round with a hole in the center. I’m not sure how or why, but it produces a softer less deadly, chewable ice. I’m not a huge fan of the snow cone type ice as it melts too fast and even from the start there is really nothing to chew. So my husband figured he spends close to $400 a year on ice. This does not include transportation to and from the store. I found this ice maker online and he said ‘GET IT!!’ I purchased it and told him not to get his hopes up because if I didn’t like the ice it produces, it’s going back. Well that isn’t the case. I LOVE the ice, it’s smaller and even softer than the ice we had been purchasing from the store. It also has the hole in the center of the cube, which makes me wonder if that is the key to soft chewable ice. The unit is fairly quiet. In fact it’s much quieter that the refrigerator ice maker. I think it’s because it has less of an ice drop to create that earth shattering noise. It works really fast. I’ve only made the large cubes, which are still fairly small, and it will produce them in about 10 minutes. It drops enough to fill a small glass, but in 10 more minutes you have more. We hooked it up, left the house for 2 hours and came home to a full bin of ice. I emptied into a large 2 gallon ziploc freezer bag. It took about 4 full bins to fill that bag up. When the ice enters the ziploc it’s a little wet, so it tends to refreeze in the freezer and make a solid chunk. This chunk easily separates with one hard drop of the bag onto the counter, so this is not an issue at all. The 2 gallon bag takes up a lot less space in the freezer than the 20lb bag we had previously been buying. I primarily take from the counter top unit when I fill my glass and save my ziploc as a backup. The rest of the family uses a lot of ice and the unit does well to meet our demand. My only complaints (and they are by no means deal breakers) are that the counter unit is much larger than I was expecting. I wish it took up less space on the counter AND for being so large, the bin that holds the ice is rather small and fills up quickly. That’s all.. Otherwise, I love it. So happy to have found it.”

Customer Review: “The product description and some photos in the listing are not accurate, this does not make 3 sizes. It only makes one size cube. That said, this is a nice unit. Set up is easy. Pour in water to the fill line, put in the basket and press the start button. It makes ice until the basket is full. When you un-box, take off all the shipping tape holding the inside basket and the ice ejector flap. There is a hidden piece of tape holding the ice ejector flap in place for shipping – it needs to be removed. The ice basket was totally full after about 75 minutes. One basket of ice fills a 1 quart Chinese restaurant soup container to put ice in the freezer for storage. It is fairly compact – 11 inches high, 10 inches deep and 9 inches wide. The machine is pretty quiet, there is a low intermittent fan sound when it is running. The instructions say to have some free space around the unit for air intake and discharge. I am impressed with it.”

Customer Review: “I ordered this item because my previous bullet ice machine randomly stopped working. I have previously owned 2 other countertop ice machines (bullet ice, pellet/Sonic ice). So, I typically have certain expectations and I am happy to say this machine meets most of them.As with most countertop, the machine arrived with instructions to sit upright for a certain amount of time prior to use. For this particular machine, the settling period was 1 hour. I loved this given that previous machines I had required anywhere from 2 to 12 hrs. So, after unboxing and cleaning the machine I let it set for about 2 hr prior to plugging it up and filling with water. After turning the machine on, the first set of ice was ready in less than 10-12 minutes. This was also a plus, as other machines that I have add seemed to take longer to make ice.Another thing that I was very important to me is that the machine was not loud. And with this machine, I only seem to hear it when it drops the ice. This machine is in my kitchen (2nd level of house), yet I hear the one in my basement and not this one. So, I like that the machine is not overly loud. The quality of the ice is good as well. It produce good thick ice. The machine comes with 2 size options (large or small).The only negatives that I have about the machine is that the water chamber is a bit smaller than my previous machines. Also, the machine comes with a scoop, however there is no suction cup or container to store the scoop. Which information sucks because it have to find something to put the scoop in, if you don’t want to lose or get your scoop dirty from sitting on random surfaces.So far, I definitely recommend this ice machine for its low noise, quick ice production.”

It’s easy to refill with water, although I wish there was an option to hardline it in, you can ONLY top fill from the basin. I would have given this a five star if it weren’t so LOUD. The fans run constantly when making ice, which is fair because it does put off some heat. I wish they would have found quieter fans. The ice is nice and soft, meeting chewable-ness. It will constantly make fresh ice by allowing the oldest ice the ability to melt back into the basin for easy use. The mechanism is simple and I only had it mess up once, ice had melted or something in a way that let one of the cubes fall back under the arm and the arm had some give in it and it kept working but I resolved it manually to avoid damage. It’s compact, effective and economically priced. Had it not been for the fan noise, I’d be completely happy with a five star.”
